Warwick Palm Beach Hotel
Ranked #44 of 114 Hotels in Beirut
Reviewed 13 February 2008

I am an Lebanese American Businessman who goes to Beirut at least once a year. I always stay at the Palm Beach. Why?
It is a small boutique hotel with lovely rooms, restaurants and none of the madness of the other large luxury hotels. It is in a perfect location, central to eveything. The staff is very helpful in every way.

I stayed in this hotel for nearly a week last year. It is a very well appointed hotel, nice furniture etc. The hotel room service was good and the concierge was very good. I was not as impressed by some of the desk staff. This hotel is expensive by my personal standards, although for the appearance and type of hotel it is reasonable. A drawback for several people I knew staying there (and also for myself) is that there is a nightclub in the building and , as is common in Beirut, people party late. So you might find a noisy group next door or overhead, with little alternative. I recommend earplugs in general if you are not a night owl or have trouble sleeping. It's not just this hotel, it is any of the swanker hotels on the Corniche and probably other parts of Beirut. People come from all over the Middle East to party in ways they probably can't at home, not to mention that the Lebanese like to party. This, like most things, is a drawback for some and an enticement for others. This hotel is within walking distance of the Hamra area and near downtown as well, and it is a block or two from Hard Rock Cafe on the Corniche. I did not eat at the restaurant and I felt , personally, extra amenities were rather expensive, but for many people they would not be considered anything but reasonable. I have rated this hotel above average because for most people who do not have concerns for budget, this is a very attractive hotel. And in fact, even for the budget conscious it is probably not that expensive by general standards. However, there are alternatives in Beirut which I would recommend for the more budget conscious traveler.

I recently stayed at thye Palm Beach for four nights prior to a family wedding. It was my first visit to Beirut and I was a little apprehensive.

I was fortunate to be upgraded to a junior suite, and this was a very pleasant surprise.

The standard of the rooms were very good and this allied to the genuine wish of all the staff to be helpful and welcoming ensured a happy visit. Taxis ordered by the excellent concierge arrived before time and waited until I was ready to leave the hotel.

The pool was a little disappointing being on the small size however this area transforms at night to a very lively nightspot.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Palm Beach hotel for 9 days on a business trip.

The pluses :
- very clean and comfortable rooms, with a welcome fruit basket and nightly turndown service
- personnel courteous, efficient and welcoming
- good location close to the Corniche and within walking distance from several seafront restaurants
- excellent buffet breakfast including a wide array of fresh fruit juices, croissants, eggs, cheese, cold cuts, cereals and also the typical fittings of a Lebanese breakfast (labaneh, foul, tomatoes, olives... no hommus though)
- very good, albeit pricey, rooftop restaurant and bar with an amazing view of the sea front
- excellent workout facilities and there is also a pool, although it was closed at this time of year

The minuses :
- the wireless internet connection in the rooms is not very good (it is slightly better at the business center but there is only one computer available)
- hotel taxis are quite expensive, it is much better to flag a (red-plate)regular taxi on the street or to have them call Allo-Taxi for you

...all in all, this is a well-managed place that I would heartily recommend.
