“A reasonable place to stay”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

My hotel was selected by my client so I had no choice in it, having said that, the room was clean and quiet. I asked to be collected from the airport but did not receive confirmation however there was a driver there waiting for me when I arrived. I only ate in the hotel and the menu was limited. The buffet was available on one evening and al la carte on the others. The quality was just OK but nothing special. All of the staff were very friendly and tried to help when they could. They did not let me have a late checkout as the hotel was apparently fully booked but did not look so when I came back from work on the last day. I had to change in the Fitness Centre which was not ideal and then spent several hours working in the lobby waiting for a midnight flight back to the UK.
Apparently the hotel is near the beach but due to the heat, I did not explore much although there did not appear to be much to see or do near the hotel. There is a reasonable fitness room with a very small pool which was welcome after a hot day at work.

Thank you for your valuable feed back. we wish we could have been able to do more regarding your late check out but the hotel was fully booked on the date of your departure. We have welcomed our new Lebanese Chef Nawal whom we are confident will bring more taste and variety to the food and beverage experience.

Once again thank you and we will be looking forward to your coming visits.

The hotel is in a good location, with several restaurants and fast food chains within walking distance. Check out the new pizza place, in the corner, across the street from the Mc Donald's. It has very good pizza, sandwiches and fresh juices/smoothies, etc.

The hotel is also 5-8 minute walk from a beautiful beach, great for walking and observing the gorgeous homes in the area.

Our room and bathroom were comfortable, with the normal ammenities for this type of hotel but breakfast was not included in the price, when we booked through an online booking agent. The buffet breakfast, while good, at an extra US $ 20 or 23 per person, was not worth it. It should be included or provided at a more affordable price.

We had issues with water coming out of the shower, due to a missing plastic seal, between the glass door and the tub. They did send a person to dry the floor that night and the following day sent an employee to replace the missing seal it. This should not have happened. They need to frequently check and give maintenance to rooms, bathrooms, etc. to keep everything in perfect working condition.
The hotel has a heated indoor pool, which we used for relaxation.

We inquired about a taxi fare, more than once, and the staff did not inform us, until another travelling friend asked, that the hotel has a van for a more affordable rate. Poor communication!!!

The Ramada is not a bad choice but it could be much better. There is room for improvement!!!

Thank you very much for your comments. It is a pitty our Front Office team did not inform you of the attractions next door and around the corner. The Shatti Plaza is next to the hotel with the biggest Cinema Complex in Muscat and many restaurants. Also Al Masa mall with a bowling center and shops is across the street. we will make sure the information is passed to our guests about attractions regulary.

It was a pleasure having you stay at the Ramada Muscat and we will be looking forward to your future visits.

Thank you

One of the worst hotels I have ever visited. The weather was really cold and the heating didn't work, I had to beg for the hotel for a small heater and although the duty manager went to the local super market and bought one I was freezing for a couple of nights, also the whole atmosphere is really really poor

Thank you for taking the time to send us your valuable comments. Please accept our apologies for the cold you had to endure although we promptly bought the heater yet apparently it was not enough. Again we apologize and we have taken precautions for next winter not to have this problem with any of our guests again.

As for your general comment about the hotel as poor,we would appreciate it if you could specify in which way to help us improve the experience in the future.

We are very interested in our guests comfort and we value their opinions and we truely thank you for your time and comments.

looking forward to welcoming you again to the Ramada Muscat.

Best Regards.

A typical American chain hotel. Don't expect more. Rather uncomfortable beds with polyester filling covers. The worst point is the wifi. Patchy at best and often randomly coming and going. Slow too. Be aware also that skype is blocked by the Government in Oman. On the good side I should mentioned that Qurum beach is close by, ie within walking distance.

Having read some of the negative comments about this hotel on Tripadvisor, I was a little concerned, but my concerns were unfounded. The hotel rooms are spacious, modern, clean and quiet, the breakfast is excellent, and the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from a beautiful beach and promenade. We did not eat dinner in the hotel but found a very nice restaurant called "Love at first bite" just around the corner.

Room Tip: Rooms 220-222 look over the inner courtyard with the small swimming pool which is closed overnight...

I went for a business trip and stayed in for 3 nights, the hotel is neat and clean, very convenient and is near many areas to go around. Rooms are big, all amenities are available and if not they will bring from you, mini bar is empty and you need to order, TV, Wifi, daily coffee in room. Toilets are clean, there shower is nice. Carpets in room not available. Service could be better a little bit slow. Their Noir cafe and restaurant, is clean, Buffet breakfast is offered, many you could choose from. Taxi are available, there is a near market you can go to and Qurum City Center is like 10 minutes away. It is a 4 star hotel and is convenient.

Room Tip: Pool side rooms are quite.
