“Nice hotel, lovely staff, lousy restaurant”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

I have stayed a number of times in this hotel and would certainly return, although it has a number of drawbacks. It's a dry hotel (no alcohol available) and although that's not a big deal on a business trip, I would think twice before booking it as a holiday hotel. It's situated 300 metres from the lovely Qurum Beach which is beautiful at sunset. (The Omani Fine Arts museum is next door and is worth a visit if you can find it open - it seems to open and close more on whim than according to its published timetable.)

The hotel staff are lovely, extremely polite, helpful and obliging. They are obviously well trained. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The real letdown is the restaurant. Breakfast and lunch are fine - the buffets are good and plentiful. The evening meal is the real issue. The restaurant is dark (black walls), underused and so has no atmosphere. It's underused because the choice of food, which never seems to vary, is poor and the quality really doesn't match that of the lunch. The service in the restaurant, though friendly, is not perfect, with regular misunderstandings about what's included in a full board booking, and not everything displayed on the menu is available. I do think that with a little attention and TLC, the management could turn this into a nice evening venue. My preference, despite my client booking me on full board, is to eat elsewhere in the evening. If they get the restaurant right, I will add a star to my review!

There is a multiplex cinema 200 metres from the hotel, and there are quite a few other restaurants around, albeit most of them serve fast food. There's a rather half-hearted shopping centre up the road and the hotel is within a long walk/short taxi ride of Oman's splendid opera house.

I had chosen this hotel as i wanted to try out new. To my satisfacation the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was rather simple but good. But iam pleased with the service of the hotel with the staff especially helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues for future stays.

The hotel was very quite and the room was equipped with what I had expected. Also there was a coffee machine in the room for making espresso which was great. The breakfast buffet was rather simple but satisfactory. Overall we had a pleasant stay in this hotel.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to our business appointments but we were very pleased with the property and the service we received there. Our room was very modern, clean and spacious. The air conditioning caused us a bit of a problem since it wasn't easy to regulate and it was too cold. However, the bed was WONDERFUL - so comfortable! The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The pool is quite small and not much shade. There is a small workout room. We only had breakfast there one day. It was a bit expensive but was a full buffet and the wait staff was quite gracious. It is within walking distance of the beach, shops and several cafes and fast food restaurants. We thought the room charge of 56 OMR was reasonable and we were very happy with our stay at Ramada Qurum Beach.

Room Tip: Our room (2nd level) on the main entrance side of the hotel was quiet and very spacious.

this hotel i think only for business, because located in diplomatic quarter, they have only 86 deluxe rooms and 16 suites , like four star boutique hotel. they swimming pool i said its too small.. Room interior is quite old classic style, but fortunately already renovated .

My hotel was selected by my client so I had no choice in it, having said that, the room was clean and quiet. I asked to be collected from the airport but did not receive confirmation however there was a driver there waiting for me when I arrived. I only ate in the hotel and the menu was limited. The buffet was available on one evening and al la carte on the others. The quality was just OK but nothing special. All of the staff were very friendly and tried to help when they could. They did not let me have a late checkout as the hotel was apparently fully booked but did not look so when I came back from work on the last day. I had to change in the Fitness Centre which was not ideal and then spent several hours working in the lobby waiting for a midnight flight back to the UK.
Apparently the hotel is near the beach but due to the heat, I did not explore much although there did not appear to be much to see or do near the hotel. There is a reasonable fitness room with a very small pool which was welcome after a hot day at work.

Thank you for your valuable feed back. we wish we could have been able to do more regarding your late check out but the hotel was fully booked on the date of your departure. We have welcomed our new Lebanese Chef Nawal whom we are confident will bring more taste and variety to the food and beverage experience.

Once again thank you and we will be looking forward to your coming visits.

The hotel is in a good location, with several restaurants and fast food chains within walking distance. Check out the new pizza place, in the corner, across the street from the Mc Donald's. It has very good pizza, sandwiches and fresh juices/smoothies, etc.

The hotel is also 5-8 minute walk from a beautiful beach, great for walking and observing the gorgeous homes in the area.

Our room and bathroom were comfortable, with the normal ammenities for this type of hotel but breakfast was not included in the price, when we booked through an online booking agent. The buffet breakfast, while good, at an extra US $ 20 or 23 per person, was not worth it. It should be included or provided at a more affordable price.

We had issues with water coming out of the shower, due to a missing plastic seal, between the glass door and the tub. They did send a person to dry the floor that night and the following day sent an employee to replace the missing seal it. This should not have happened. They need to frequently check and give maintenance to rooms, bathrooms, etc. to keep everything in perfect working condition.
The hotel has a heated indoor pool, which we used for relaxation.

We inquired about a taxi fare, more than once, and the staff did not inform us, until another travelling friend asked, that the hotel has a van for a more affordable rate. Poor communication!!!

The Ramada is not a bad choice but it could be much better. There is room for improvement!!!
