Very nice Souq full of cafe's, restaurants, shops, shisha and just generally a really nice walk in the evening!
On weekends there is always some sort of entertainment on.

Central gathering place and shopping. All kinds of people moving through. Great people watching. Wide range of restaurants and bazaar type shopping. Feels safe and people are friendly.

Went here twice. Friday evening it was very busy and crowded. Saturday morning it was much easier to take in all impressions you meet here. It is really special to wander in a souq, I think you can find just about anything here! We visited with a guide the second time and he took us to the falcon hospital! And we had a glass of tea in a majlis. We even went to see the stables with the arabian horses. The badest thing we experienced here was the street with animals for sale. That made us feel sick.Terrible.

A modern incarnation of a traditional market. A lot of variety by very compact, it can be crossed in just a few minutes. Close to the MIA, it’s a must on any visit to Doha, however brief.

In the old part of Doha, this place is great to visit in the evening for a nice experience of shop. There are many little shops with very nice staff and you can negotiate the price very easily. Great golden street with very good prices, many restaurants cheap and not so bad, nice walking into the city. So sad to see a part of it with many animals in cage and still more sad in a shop with staffed animals like Lions, Birds and others... There's also a part of the place dedicated to falcons (alive). Too hot to visit it before October.

You can get all in Souw Waqif, tourist sh.... but also what ever you need to live...
Alone to walk through the bazaar and to breath all the different flavours is amazing...
You should sit down in one of the tea and coffee bars or get in to one of the restaurants.... Best you chose one where you see some local people....the food is much better!!!

Its a big market in the center of Doha , has a whole lot of restaurants, tea , coffee and shisha/hookah spots, its also full of shops that sell a lot of different goods , you will also find a very interesting art center in the middle of the souq. also there's a handmade leather souq and gold souqs around the main souq..I LOVE THAT PLACE .
note that its usually very crowded on weekends especially during the nice weather season.

We were stranded in Doha, Qatar, for 22 hours due to a late connection out of Heathrow on Qatar Airlines, and arranged a city tour through the hotel in which we were staying. This Souk was one of the places recommended to visit.
Regrettably, the day we were in Doha was a Friday - the equivalent of a Sunday - and many things were closed, including most of the Souk.
By the time we got there, later in the afternoon, some things were opening up, though it seemed to be mainly restaurants for the evening trade.
It covered a large area, with some big open squares and some narrow alleyways
It looked like an interesting place to visit when it is pumping, but unfortunately, we were there at the wrong time.

There are three souqs that are clustered together; general merchandise for daily life and souvenirs, gold, and falconry. An easy walk from the Islamic Art Museum, this is a safe and fascinating place for both locals and visitors to enjoy finding just the right thing.

Hassle free compared to more touristy souqs elsewhere. The falcon souq was fascinating, the gold souq rather bland in its new quarters.

No idea whether the prices are bargains or rip-offs.
