Another great restaurant in Souq Waqif! This one is near the animal market, right next to the exit barriers closest to the corniche and behind the Hotel souq Waqif.

The food very well makes up for the service. The lack of excellent service could be down to a language issue. The waiters, most of whom are friendly, speak arabic and understanding the dishes on the menu and ordering for that matter can be tricky at times. Their inventory system needs an overhaul, as they run out of dishes pretty soon - a good sign that the food is always fresh and good I guess.

I have found that going with a larger group is always better than a family of four. Smaller groups dont get seated in the carpeted area which is usually my preference, as it adds to the character. The waiters are dressed in traditional Yemeni outfits, the place could do with some traditinal Yemeni music.

The food is brought out in traditional platters and is full of character and taste. The meat is very soft and tender.

The price is very reasonable too.

Went there for lunch with a friend on a Friday afternoon. The place was busy but not packed. The food (especially the lamb) was amazing and the price is reasonable compared to many overpriced restaurants in this country. Highly recommended!
