A must see building (you can't miss it on the corniche), designed by I. M. Pei. Serene spaces, but gets busy on a Friday afternoon. A great park with a Richard Serra sculpture.
The exhibition is smaller than you expect given the size of the building and a couple of hours is probably sufficient for the visit. The exhibits are well set out, informative but could do with a little more context. We didn't use the museum guide or available audio guide, so these may have given more information.

Wonderful exhibits and a must see when you are in Doha. A ten minute walk from the Souk. I only wish I had a guide knowledgeable in art history. Beautiful pieces from the region.

This beautifully designed building cannot be missed, located on the end of The Corniche next to the docks. It is well located with amazing views of the city centre across the bay through the large window that spans all the floors. The restaurant is located on the ground floor which is a nice place to grab a bite while admiring the view of the city.

Entrance to the museum and the audio guide was free making this even more appealing. The museum houses a beautiful collection of pieces from the region across multiple floors so its easy for the hours to go by depending on your interests. At the time the was also an exhibition Hajj, The Journey Through Art, which provided some interesting information regarding Islam and Hajj.

Please note it's important to dress appropriately when in Qatar, you will not be allowed to enter the museum if not dress respectfully.

They have a very nice cafe in the lobby after you go through security. It has a nice view of the ocean, huge glass windows. Food is good, and reasonably priced. The museum is nice, and free. A great way to spend an afternoon.

This was a great introduction to Islamic art and contained items from all over the region. Although we did not eat in the restaurant, we heard that it had a great view of the city and wonderful food.
