Stayed for two nights at the end of our holiday to Thailand. Rooms were fabulous, gadgets everywhere, squeaky clean & well designed. Breakfast was amazing service included!
Would defiantly stay again.

I'm an American living in Doha who's driven, walked and jogged by The Torch hundreds of times in the last 5.5 yrs. I dined in the 360 Restaurant once and it was lovely. Also went to a media function a few months ago on the 2nd level.

Today I arrived at The Torch and checked in, had a wonderful lunch with 3 friends, and am staying one night. Everything exceeded my expectations from communication ahead of time, lobby/reception check-in, to the bellboy, and the room itself. WOW! 4 of us enjoyed an enormous buffet at the Flying Carpet and even met the General Manager and other high level staff. The view was a bit hazy today but the food--shrimp, pasta, fish, soups, salads, meats, etc... was divine. They surprised me with a birthday cake and treated me like royalty. I would like to mention Claudia Olaru who has a management position and who answered myriad emails before my visit. She greeted us and shared about her life and was splendid. The GM, Mr. Gerhard Foltin was incredibly gracious and accommodating, as was the sales manager. I returned to my room to find yet another surprise birthday cake. Good Lord, how can I eat even more!?? I also was informed that my breakfast would be "complimentary" tomorrow. Again, WOW. I have visited the lobby, the amazing pool deck, the restaurant, and my room. I can't say enough about this hospitable, delightful venue. I highly recommend The Torch...

Booked a night stay at The Torch for my husband's birthday. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and welcome drinks. Our room had the view of Doha city. We were accompanied by the guest relation supervisor who explained all the amenities the hotel and room had to offer. The room's control is via an iPad which we found it quite a novelty. Hotel is really modern and bright. The infinity pool was a nice touch. Would come and stay here again.

This was our last evening in Doha this trip, and we decided to eat in this very impressive hotel's revolving restaurant for our final meal.

The entrance to the restaurant was amazing and a high powered lift zoomed us up to the 47th floor in seconds.

We were greeted by unsmiling staff and shown to our table.

The setting was spectacular, with views to die for across Doha. The dining area was pretty good too. We proceeded to make food choices which were given to our waitress and complimentary glasses of nonalcoholic drinks and bread with dips were placed before us. I hadn't finished my drink, when a waitress appeared and whisked away all our glasses.

We were told the breaded veal was the speciality of the evening so three of us chose this. Big mistake! Upon arrival of this main course, we were astounded to see two large pieces of meat which practically filled the plate, but just as well, as there was little else there. A small amount of mashed potato was well and truly spread out with an unspeakably small amount of veg. The meat was so thinly hammered out within the breadcrumbed coating which must have been deep fried rather than pan fried, with the result that it was extremely crisp and hard to cut. The coating appeared thicker than the meat. The overall affect of this meant the pieces were hardly edible. A thick mushroom sauce in a little pot was provided to counteract the dryness but as one of our party didn't like mushrooms, this addition was of no benefit. This sauce in truth was so thick and stodgy it hardly moistened the meat in any event. Fresh lemon wedges were requested to drizzle on the meat, and with rather sombre and unsmiling faces, these were eventually proffered.

Upon collecting our plates it was noted that large portions of meat were left untouched. The waitress enquired if we'd enjoyed our meal. We expressed our disappointment and complained about the meat which she said she would pass to the kitchen. In fact my husband actually remarked to her that it was the worst meal he'd had in the five weeks we had eaten out in Doha.

Several minutes later, the manager presented himself at our table and asked why we hadn't enjoyed our meal. He offered to provide an alternative main course, which we all refused. Two of us accepted a dessert for which we weren't charged. This hardly compensated for our miserable experience in this high class restaurant.

Disregarding the food, the hospitality in this restaurant was non-existent. The staff in general were unfriendly and unsmiling, almost to the extent that one could have described them as morose! This was very noticeable as normally in Doha everyone is extremely friendly and hospitable in restaurants and hotels.

An experience not to be repeated as we will definitely not eat here again when we return to Doha, nor would we recommend it.

It was an expensive mistake, a totally spoilt evening which should have been a pleasant and memorable one.

Room Tip: Not applicable as we only ate in one of the restaurants.

Very highly recommended! Booked a basic de luxe room. Was huge with spacious modern bathroom with shower, huge bath and bidet. For me, the coup was that all the gimmicks are controlled by iPad - you can even change the colour of the back lighting of the bedroom walls. We arrived very early, and the hotel accommodated us with a reasonably priced early check in and complimentary first breakfast. The Flying Carpet breakfast buffet was outstanding with a wide array of western and middle eastern foods. The cantilevered pool of course was spectacular. Even though Jeanette is scared of heights, the staff were very considerate, getting her used to the glass elevators (thank you Stefan). But do keep in mind, this is a dry hotel (no alcohol), and it is difficult to get a taxi from the hotel. One has to go to the Villagio shopping mall next door for a taxi - problematic if you have a departure outside shopping hours. Altogether a fantastic experience.

I spent few days in the Torch hotel (Junior suite) and it was a fantastic experience! Very contemporary place. E.g. the curtains, TV, room service, lights and some more are controlled by iPads. Perfect clean and service and good food is served in the restaurants. But its an all over the year dry hotel - even not a real wine... Nearby is a huge shopping mall. And the stadiums.

We stayed here for one night during a 2 week visit to Doha. What an amazing hotel. We asked for a high up room so we had a little wait for one to be made ready but we used this opportunity to explore the hotel. The rooms are great, everything is controlled using an iPad, curtains, tv, music (you could create your own playlist from the song choices) and the lighting which had many colours to choose from, we had fun changing them! A bonus was the mini bar which was complimentary for the first of every drink, water was unlimited as well as tea and coffee (nespresso machine). We had a fruit plate as well which was a nice touch.

We used the pool later in the afternoon and were pleased to find it completely in the shade, so we could enjoy it without worrying about the fierce sun. Stunning views from there as well.

We dined at 360 in the evening which was an experience! The revolving restaurant means you get amazing views from all angles. The food was lovely and service good.

I ordered an aromatherapy pillow for the evening and had a great sleep as the beds are so comfortable.

Breakfast had something for everyone and lots of choice.

We would definitely go again should we visit Doha in the future, but stay for longer next time.
