“Just Ok, Don't expect much”
Review of Doha Zoo

Doha Zoo
Reviewed 26 March 2014

This is the only and oldest zoo in Qatar. Its is located at the outskirts of the city. Since its old dont expect much out of it. Its neat and maintained but still has its faults. It has a wide set of animals and also has a park for kids to enjoy. Great for a ideal family weekend.

A stark, bare and poorly designed zoo. The animals are in cages that are far too small and there is absolutely no enrichment for them. Thank goodness it is closed for the forseeable future. The sad part is that the animals are being "housed" somewhere in Qatar and no further information has been made public.

Most animals look dead due to the heat, and there isn't usually much to see. The place could definitely use more activities and advertising. It has the potential to being something spectacular, which people could visit everyday, but with the way it's carried out, I don't really see it heading into the right direction.

In terms of zoos this one is fairly poor. Animals kept here seem pretty depressed and am not sure how well looked after they are. It seems as if the animals are constantly fed by the public popcorn/ drinks etc.....Its OK for families and if you have nothing else to do.
