“Average!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

It's about a collection of restaurants where you can hang out or have Shisha. Or you can have a walk but that depends on the weather. Nothing much. Expensive places and limited parking lots.

“Nothing to see on a Tuesday”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

I visited Katara with my family yesterday, Tuesday and was utterly disappointed. We went around 7pm. The inside was poorly lit and it was very hard to find anything as there were no maps available at the Information desk and most of the staff spoke very little to no English.

Nothing was happening at Katara. The few shops that were open all had liquidation sale signs and very little to offer. The amphitheater staff shooed us away once we finally found it in a language that we couldn't understand.

The only thing open were the restaurants but we did't drive 25 mins out to have dinner.

Maybe Katara has more to offer during the weekend or festivals. But going on a weekday seems to be a loss of time.

“Mix between Culture and Fun”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The place to be during the weekends in Doha, when you need to have a night walk in a cultural place between arts and galleries... you surely have to visit Katara. You can move between the buildings in a golf car if you don't feel like walking, try to come during an event held in their Opera House or Drama Theatre or even outdoor at their amazing Amphitheatre.
Of course when you finish your tour go have a dinner in one of the many finest restaurants in Doha all located at Katara.

I surely recommend this place.

“Totally boring”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

I came here expecting something much different than what I found. I guess the cultural aspects are better seen here with friends as I was bored and lost in the village when I went there in January. Would have been a better experience if the information center had a map, or could at least tell me what was open in the evening. I saw nothing more than restaurants and upscale Qatari commercialism.
