Immense hotel. Palatial yes. Beautiful, yes. Too big and without soul for my liking. Hard to navigate. Just too big for big's sake.
Very nice breakfast and dinner. Expensive, but to be expected. Didnt have time to visit any of the facilities or beach.

Thank carbonlazy

Did not manage to visit inside, but from the outside the Palace is gorgeous. At night the palace lights change colours regularly which provides a lovely spectacle.

The statistics are amazing. Five staff on average for every room. Cost 1.5 billion euro to build etc.
I was delighted to see the ATM for dispensing gold, but only as a novelty.
While it is hard to ignore the scale of the place, it felt more like a monument than a hotel. It is kind of the hotel to let nosy tourists visit as many hotels of this calibre would not do so.
My overall impression is that it was very, well, brown. I wasn't dreaming of the lottery win that would allow me to stay there.
Nevertheless, you know you want to go and see it!

We booked a high tea one afternoon. There is a minimum spend per person, but the quality makes it worth while.

Emirates Palace left me cold. I thought it was weird to have an over-the-top hotel as a tourist attraction! It was indeed, gorgeous and you may want to go just to say you saw the gold vending machine. There was an art exhibit of Italian tourist posters, and I was told that there had previously been an impressive art exhibit there. Also worth seeing is are the artifacts--e.g., shards, jewelry--for sale and displayed around the hotel. Otherwise....meh...unless your thing is gawking at opulence...
