Read online about daily free tours at around sunset, but there were no signs of any tour organisation when we arrived, just followed the crowds and showed ourselves around! Nice way to spend an hour at sunset anyway.

Beutiful & quite place , Visit in the late evening , The calm & quite surrounding is mesmerising. The lighting effects & cool breeze of Sept eveving was pleasent & made my visit memorable.
Well worth the trip even if you never intended to leave Dubai. Should you have hour or two to spare on your way from/to the airport - go there. It is about half way between the city center and the airport, hard to overlook.
Nice during the day, however extraordinary experience during the night.
It should be simply one of the wonders of the world.
At a cost of around $5bn, you can not believe your eyes. It has marble throughout with encrusted marble decorations!
It also has the largest hand-made carpet in the world, made in Iran.
