Ladies make sure you take a form of id as no matter how covered up you are you still need to wear an abya. If you don't take I'd like yours truly you will be refused entry and only be able to appriciate the mosque from the outside.
Please note that on Friday visitors only can go after 4pm

Agree with all that has been said before- interior/exterior visually stunning. The equivalent to a modern day Taj Mahal.
Well worth taking the free tour which is very informative about the building itself and the culture. A must see if you are in Abu Dhabi.

We visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque just after our visit to Ferrari World. First thing - I was completely awestruck with the massiveness of the mosque. Everything about the mosque is beautiful - its structure, architectural design, and most importantly the interiors.

Once you enter the interior halls of the mosque, there are three massive chadeliers - I have never such a chandelier bigger and better than these ones.

If you are someone who loves photography, I would definitely recommend visiting this mosque a little earlier than 6 PM to take some really good shots.

The whole visit should not take you more than 1 hour.

All in all, definitely worth a visit.

I visited the SZGMC first in 2011, and really enjoyed my visit. I took my partner there when we visited in 2014 and was even more inspired. Such a wonderful building, so much love, attention and inspiration put into every part of it. It is lovely to have such enthusiastic guides to show you the building from their perspective and the Islamic art is so beautiful. Cannot recommend this highly enough - although, coming from the UK, I find it hard to understand why facilities to make a discreet donation are not provided, should one feel they wanted to.

Beautiful, spiritual and vast, didn't get a chance to go in but it is stunning, a master piece.

Makes a good day out. Allow time so that you can really enjoy the place. It's free entrance and tours. Do research before visit
