Recently stayed at Traders to celebarte my partners birthday. We were upgraded to a suite and received a Birthday cake, wine, flowers and Birthday card. Hotel is amazing, clean and staff very very friendly and polite. Breakfast was great. Could not fault the hotel at all. Excellent value for money.

The Traders is a very nice place to be. I was booked into a room that regretfully was right above the construction beside it. After speaking for a few minutes with the manager I was upgraded and moved.

Room Tip: If anything is not the way it should be, let them know and they will address it.

We stayed at the hotel for seven nights in September. We chose the hotel after staying at a few other Traders Hotels around the world and having a great experience at them.
On arrival at the hotel we were greated by friendly staff who directed us to the Club Lounge as we were booked into a club room. We arrived at the hotel at around 8am and were given a temporary room until our room was ready around 2.30pm.
Our room was on the 9th floor and had a balcony overlooking the water. The room was a fantastic size with a king size bed and was very modern and was extremely clean. The room was very quiet. There was a cupboard with plenty of room for clothing, shoes etc, there were also three large drawers.
The TV was a flat screen and had plenty of channels to choose from, there was also a dvd player in the room. The room had a mini bar but even in the club room this was not included in the room rate and had to be paid for seperately. There was also free wifi in the room. Complimentary water was provided in the room each day
The bathroom was a fantastic size with a bath, shower cubicle, sink, toilet and again was extremely clean. The towels were changed each day and slippers and robes were also provided.
The room was cleaned each day and a fantastic job was made.
The club lounge was fantastic, there was plenty of choice for breakfast which was served until 10.30 each day. There was a choice of cereal, cooked breakfast, pastries, fruit etc. Soft drinks and tea, coffee were provided throughout the day.
Wine, beer and alcholic drinks and snacks were available between 6pm and 8pm each night. Again there was a great choice of snacks available which varied each day including meatballs, beef burgers, pizza. A variety of desserts were also available along with fresh fruit.
The staff in the lounge were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay outstanding. the only down side on the club lounge was that it was quite smoky as people were alowed to smoke in there. A computer and printer were also available in the lounge.
We used the pool at the hotel which is a salt water pool. The pool is a lap pool and was very clean. The sunbeds at the pool were very comfortable and towels were provided. The pool area did seem to get a little busy at times. We also used the beach which again had plenty of beds and towels were provided. We were also given complimentary water and a cool box at the beach.
Ther hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the city and a shuttle bus was provided to several location in the city about four times a day . We got a taxi to and from the airport and this cost us around £6 each way.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it definately exceeded our expectations. If we return to Abu Dhabi we will definately stay at this hotel again and I will certainly recommed the hotel to my friends & family.

Room Tip: Pay for a club room as it is great value for money

It is rated as a 4* hotel and I am quite sure the hotel is underrrated - definitely in my opinion a 5* hotel ! Great, roomy and well equipped rooms and bathrooms, outstanding staff from the reception desk, to restaurant staff and room service staff. Incredibly warm and obliging every single one of them ! For a hotel of such a high standard, it was exceptional value and its charges for room service, the resturant and incidentals such as phone calls, were very reasonable. It is a little away from central Abu Dhabi but getting to and from the city centre is cheap and easy and if you can't be bothered to make that journey, a modern 'souk' is just a 10 minute walk away or you can hop on a hotel provided golf cart to make the trip. I have stayed at (supposedly) more highly rated hotels that just aren't up to scratch compared to Traders in Abu Dhabi.

We're residents in Abu Dhabi and enjoy staying in hotesl across the UAE. Traders can recommended to us by friends. Traders up until recently had been a quieter, newer hotel, offering incentives and deals to get people in the door. But is now better known and is more popular. We stayed in an Executive Suite which was more than comfortable for us as a family of four. We had access to the club lounge which included a selection of hot and cold drinks throughout the day and snacks in the evning between 6 and 8pm. The lounge is on the ninth floor. It is very smokey and is not big enough to accommdate the demand. The hotel offers club lounge facilities to those staying in suites and in club rooms which could be over 60 rooms. This puts a strain on service. We arrived for snacks after 7pm and waiting for a table and for the snacks to be replenished. Great service yet I think the hotel are struggling to keep on top of this service. We had lunch on the first day in the restaurant and again breakfast the following morning. The hotel is advertised as part of the Shang Ri La complex and up until recently guests staying at Traders could use the facilities including the pools, beaches and gyms etc of Shang Ri La. However this is no longer the case. You are restricted to the pool and beach of the traders. This is Policed very well and you will be challenged and turned around. The pool at traders is on the first floor facing the car park. It is a salt pool. A lap pool and again could not keep up with the demand or accommodate the guests of Traders well. The pool bar was closed and there are limited beds around the pool. If Traders are going to restrict access then another pool is a must and not salt water. Whilst we understand that the restrictions this should be clear on the web site and on check in etc. Cross signing facilities still features on the web pages. This is misleading. Other than this, staff were friendly, service was good, parking bit of a nightmare yet the hotel are working on building another car park. Not sure that I will be back unless they add another pool or re-impose cross signing to Shang Ri La.

7 of us stayed here for 1 night during a short visit to Abu Dhabi. Check in was no problem at all but when we arrived in our room the smell of smoke was too overpowering and we requested that we moved rooms - we only did this as we specifically requested non smoking rooms when we booked. As we had booked club rooms, we were using the club reception - who were extremely helpful and quickly arranged a new room for us. As the hotel was almost fully booked, we were transferred to a suite, which was perfect! They also upgraded those in our family who hadn't yet arrived - before they had even looked at their 1st appointed room.
The hotel is very clean and modern, had everything you need and the staff were very pleasant. Yes there is construction going on beside the hotel at the moment, and the noise is disturbing. However, this is not the fault of the hotel - I think they could just make you aware of it more when booking.
We ate in the restaurant at lunchtime, which was good. Nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Breakfast was good, a pleasant relaxing breakfast sitting outside - with a huge selection to suit everyone.
We made full use of the club lounge between the open hours of 6-8pm, with the drinks flowing and the snacks food very good (some people actually made this their evening dinner). Would definately recommend this as an option when booking your rooms.
We took the buggies round to the souk late evening (the hotel can provide a boat to take you but we didn't wait for it) and ate in the noodle house which was lovely.
Would definately stay at this hotel again, for the money it was excellent value.
