“Very Good Resort near the Airport”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

We stayed at the Traders for 3 nights as a stop over on the way back from Phuket. The resort and staff were very friendly and we paid the little extra to have the club lounge access which was definitely worthwhile. We stayed at the hotel during Ramadan which meant that you could not drink or eat around the pool, which was not a problem for us we wanted to embrace the culture. But it was 47c, thankfully the hotel staff would allow you to take water inside away from the pool to not offend anyone.

The traders hotel is very close to the Shangri-La and you can use the services there, although it was very very posh. There is a local Souk that has restaurants and it really comes alive at night.

The hotel also has a little beach, I would definitely recommend a stay if you are stopping over as it is close to the airport. It would not be a holiday resort as such, I could not imagine staying here for more than a week but it was ideal for our requirements.

Rooms not well soundproofed,NO view of the mosque as advertised as there is a new building in the way,a long way from town with nothing else around from my viewpoint.Breakfast a bit of a letdown.
Otherwise, service excellent and staff always attentive and helpful

I stayed for 2 days, during July 2012. The weather in Abu Dhabi was of course awful (but you expect that, going in Emirates during this period). The reception area is truly nice and the rooms are clean and spatious.
The sleep quality was not well at all, but maybe it was not due to the hotel itself but to the very high temperatures of the season.
Breakfast was OK, the restaurant was nothing special.

Overall, with a good rate, it worths staying in this hotel.

Location great for exhibition centre, 5 minutes taxi ride away. Large clean, comfortable rooms and good showers. Small but very adequate pool and bar on roof to unwind especially if combined by an excellent foot massage by spa therapist. 5 munute waterfront walk to Shangrila Souk where there are enough dining and shopping options. Definately more of a business or stop over hotel than holiday option

This is so far one of the best hotels I have stayed and enjoyed. I have no knowledge of Traders Hotel except for the one in Singapore along Orchard Road. When I reach the hotel, the entrance to the lobby looked crampy but the interior was nicely decorated and spacious. The portmen were very warm with smiles and greetings even though the weather was very hot at this season. With more to expect from the frontdesk during checkin, the service was marvellous and swift.

The room was adequately spacious, nice bed and shower facilities. Suitable for both leisure as well as business. Breakfast was offered with a spread of middle east, western as well as a little chinese delights. Their dinner menu offers quite a spread with Asian flavours such as signatures like the chicken rice, wanton noodles etc. Not exactly to the authentic taste but the chef made them good enough to match as close as possible (request for the chilli to enhance the taste), especially when you can get such dishes at this part of the world. Service level at the restaurant is excellent.

A decent rectangular swimming pool with gym facilities. if not can head out to the beach in close proximity with sunbath chairs available. It is linked with Shangri-la hotel along the walkway and can reach the Souk (10 minutes walk) for a little shopping or dinning. The only disadvantage of the hotel is the location which is away from the Downtown area. But the hotel offers free shutter bus service to some malls and attractions (mosque, Ferrari World) at certain timings.

Although was a short stay for 3 nights, I enjoyed my stay and would say the remarkable service provided by the staffs are commendable. Would not mind to stay here if I am to AD again. Thanks!

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor because if you are facing the pool side, if you do not want to be disturbed by...

I stayed here due to aircon issues at my flat. I took advantage of the last minute special summer rate and booked a two night stay at the hotel. While the hotel is associated to Shang-ri-la, it does not live up to to the name (of course noting that this is a 4-star hotel). If you are looking for a decent hotel offering free breakfast and wifi overlooking the water, then Traders is a good choice. The staff are kind overall but the rooms are basic and the valet service is terribly inefficient (prepare to wait at least 15 minutes for your car). There is only one restaurant which should, in my opinion, stick to buffet breakfasts and a lobby bar which did not encourage me much. I hear that Traders has a lovely out-door terrace lounge when temperatures are more bearable. Overall, average stay and good for the price you pay.
