Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

This is a fine hotel with excellent facilities and good service from well trained staff. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

In total terms we had a very enjoyable stay of 4 nights. Perhaps I am irritable but for me it is outrageous in 2014 to charge for internet in this grade of hotel let alone the exorbitant charge of 100 dirhams roughly 30 US dollars a day. Get real Fairmont the cheapest of hotels offer this for free!

Room Tip: Consider not paying extra for the view of the Mosque as all the public spaces have it anyway

Spent xmas at the hotel for 7nights.

Photos do not do the hotel justice, it really is stunning and the
entrance is breath taking in the dark.

We had a room on the 7th floor with club lounge facilities.

Room was very spacious we were given the city view which was ok, hoped
to get the mosque view.

Bed was very comfortable.

Bathroom was good with the rain shower which also was a wet room and
had a bath in it.
Not to everyone's tastes but we liked it.

Nice bathroom products and replenished as when used.

Separate toilet area.

Liked the nespresso machine.

Had a few issues with the turn down service out of 7 nights failed to
be done twice? And missed complety one day and another forgot to leave towel , hense why I have marked the hotel 4 star.
But overall the housekeeping was excellent.

Biggest bug bare was club staff , only apologised but did zero to address it, hay im paying for it i expect to get it, eventually spoke with manager who was even more ineffective than her staff and thanked me my feedback, she simply did not get I was unahppy, was spoiling my truip and was a complaint not feedback.

Had complimentary cake on hubbies’ bday which was a nice touch.

Staff in the club lounge were ok got better when they got to know you some were pretty slow though , , drinks of good quality but strict on
timing, I thought the layout of the area, lacked ambience, and felt it
was quite formal with people speaking in hushed voices, a tad to quiet
IMO for the xmas festivities . I have used many club lounges and felt
this whilst nice could have been a bit more lively in the pm.
Canapes were good and seemed to feature what was on offer from the
dinner buffet.
Lunch between 2-4 was also good, Not a huge choice but nice sandwiches,
cheese platters fruit etc, and scones and cream.

Bfast was fine in the lounge with all eggs cooked to order of choice,
my only grumble was the turkey bacon and turkey sausage was of really
poor quality and totally different to what was used in the cuiscene
restaurant – very processed.

Pool is lovely, beach is nice, very busy over the xmas period with
sunbeds a struggle to get , but to be fair the hotel was at full
capacity. Loved that they gave free water.

Felt cuiscene had a great choice for bfast, lunch and dinner but at
bfast was very busy, sad to see no pork stations, most beach hotels in
dubai have a pork station .

Ate in cedar lounge – excellent – great staff.
Ate in Frankies that was also really good.
Chameon was nice for pm drinks.

Had the xmas buffet on xmas day in the evening , excellent, only gripe
was ran out of mash potatoes and was not replaced, and gravy was cold.
But a well priced xmas buffet , did eat outside , bit nippy but unique
for us from the UK.

Used the hairdresser , very good at attention to detail.

Pity there weren’t more shops in the hotel.

Visted gold souk in the city, quite a distance from the hotel as is
many things. However I liked the location of the hotel and being able
to walk to Traders, the Souk and Shangri la hotel it gave a bit more
choice. From I could see hotels out of the city were isolated so this
with what was around it was good.

Also nice everything is low level, city would be a bit built up but
still more spacious than Dubai.

Beach view of the grand mosque has to be the best.

Will def return to AD but would try out the Shangri la . Club housekeeping spoilt it for.

Get the Abu Dhabi Entertainer book for food vouchers , which on
presentation of the voucher you buy one main course and get a second
for free, most of the restaurants at the Fairmont, traders, souk and
Shangri la are featured and the saving is huge. We saved several
hundred pounds with the activities as well.
Book is available in book stores in AD or on line.

Pet hate, Wifi is charged at the hotel and only free to club lounge
guests who have registered with the Fairmont loyalty programme but
loses connection when you leave the floor level.

Over all AD is not Dubai it has no where near what is on offer, but
currently it is a lot cheaper for beach hotels than Dubai literally a
third in my opinion, hotels are excellent and def a place for R & R and
for pure R & R with price difference would certainly return, Did find

AD airport truly terrible compared to Dubai airport totally chaotic.
would never fly in or out again and would get a taxi from dubai it was pretty horrific , the ques were impossible.

Thank you to Mihai Fronie at Fairmont for being so professional and polite. We love the kids pool, the beach, the children's play area. The hotel is beautiful

The reception area is gorgeous.
We highly recommend a day here.
If it's still on Groupon, it's well worth the 65 AED per adult for a day

I have just come back from a business trip to Abu Dhabi and spend 4 nights at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr hotel. This was my second visit - the previous one being 4 years earlier.

It is a very good hotel, very specious and very quiet rooms. Great hotel facilities, numerous restaurants - all good - a decent gym and a very nice outdoor living space of lounge bar, restaurant, pool cafe and beach area.

It is the friendly and helpful staff that really make this hotel work and make it a pleasure to stay. Throughout the hotel, I found the staff are always cheery, helpful, polite and smiling!

It was a busy week of work, but the hotel was relaxing and made business/life much easier.

Another big, imposing hotel but huge, comfortable rooms. Staff are always extremely helpful and attentive.

One of the few hotels you can walk to somewhere from. the Zouk is just a 5 minute walk.

A favorite.

We stayed here and celebrated New Year 2014 and couldn't have chosen a better hotel in a better location! The climate in Abu Dhabi was just perfect and the hotel's private beach comes in to it's own provided you get the art of saving a lounger correct! But that's the same in most places and it does work when mastered. The hotel itself was perfect with the staff very friendly and attentive. We stayed in a "Gold" room which had everything req'd and included free Wifi. Half Board was also ideal and the choice of restaurants within the hotel catered for everything we needed from Marco Pierre White Michelin Star standards to a great quality buffet of food from around the World. Will return here and would recommend to anyone who wants a high standard of hotel and some sun to brighten up Dec and Jan!
