“Excellent Ultra Modern Hotel ..Excellent Staff”
Reviewed 20 April 2011

This is a newly ultra modern opened hotel .It is locate directly across from the Emirates Express domestic bus terminal if you are coming from Dubai. The 2 hour bus ride will cost you just under 3USD !!Taxis in the Emirates are dirt cheap especially since gasoline is under 50cents a litre but a two hour taxi ride from Dubai to AD will cost you 100USD .
The hotel lobby is staffed by super efficient excellent English speaking staff .
Check in was ultra fast and painless.
I was assigned a non smoking room with a HUGE separate bath and excellent shower .The room controls are controlled manually or by using a mobile tablet application unit that has a docking station on the night table .If you are not use to tablets have the bellhop show you ..it is really an excellent device to control room lighting, room temperature etc etc ..total room comfort.Internet was free using a wireless keyboard and using the LCD multi-media TV as a monitor ,The huge TV has endless English stations as well as free movies .The bed was ultra comfortable and the room was super-soundproof .Breakfast was not included in the rate .It will cost you under 30USD ,There is a Mall located within 3 miutes of walking just around the left corner from the hotel exiting from the lobby .There are endless western style eateries such as KFC, Macs, etc .It has one of the best supermarket /deptstores chains to be found in the Middle East ..it is called LULUs..it is located on the bottom floor of the mall .It has a supermarket with a prepared food section .This is great if you want to make your own meals .
A concierge at the hotel whose name is Archie is probably the hotel's most valuable employee .This young man knows EVERYTHING about Abu Dhabi and how to get there .He is a former employee of the famous Yas Hotel .
Archie can answer any question that you may have about getting the most out of your trip to Abu Dhabi. He actually saved be a lot of money by giving me alternative suggestions to my expensive plans .Be sure to look for Archie if you need anything .He is probably the BEST concierge that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
This hotel is certainly ranked as being one of the best on my worldly list of not to be missed hotels of the world for friendliness , comfort and affordable luxury ,

I stayed at the Grand Millennium for almost a month and know it pretty well. It is a brand new hotel and the staff is still working out many bugs. While there, I had to move rooms because of seemingly insoluble engineering problems no doubt connected to poor quality construction. While staff members are unfailingly polite, daily I faced irritations with them and with the facilities. A few examples: Stone-aged Internet service with speeds too slow to stream video or download big files (I was told management “knows about this issue and cannot fix it”); no self-parking and VERY slow valet service (sometimes it took 30 minutes to get my vehicle even when I called ahead); insufficient water pressure to take a shower with constant water temperature (water goes between scalding hot to cold in five seconds). You get the idea. Adding to the frustration is the fact that the hotel has no liquor license and nobody knows when or if management will defeat the world-class Abu Dhabi government bureaucracy and get one. As for the restaurants, I’ve eaten in all of them and to a one they all share the same characteristics: Friendly but slow service, adequate food that is over-presented and high prices (even for Abu Dhabi). To a one, none is outstanding. On the positive side, the health club is excellent, as is the spa. And the rooftop swimming pool is spectacular. The Grand Millennium may eventually work through these problems—but for now it has many issues to be resolved before it really is deserving of its five-star claims.

I would really reccomend this hotel. I stayed there for 2 weeks for work and the staff were nothing but friendly and helpful, the room was clean and stylish and the gym and pool were great. It is next to the Al Wahda mall which is not the best mall but other than the location I was very happy. In particular the internet was free to use at all times and the rooftop pool is lovely. The food was expensive within the hotel, although possibly standard for 5 star hotels in Abu Dhabi, but it is easy to eat much more cheaply within Abu Dhabi.

The hotel was EXCELLENT value for money -- 495 Dhs (pretax) in a city where most comparable rooms are at least double that. It's brand new, comfortable, quiet and has very nice facilities, including a pool. The bathrooms are lovely, and the bed was wonderful.

For longer stays, I'd probably consider staying somewhere near the water and/or more of a "retreat", but for business meetings and short stays, this was absolutely perfect. It is a two-minute walk to the large Wahda Mall, which has plenty of restaurants and shopping facilities, so you'll never be bored here. It's also located in the middle of the city, so no taxi ride is very far.

The staff was very nice and welcoming.

Be aware the general area is congested, so at peak times it may take 5 minutes to physically leave the city block where the hotel is located. Also, they do not yet have a liquor license, so all the restaurants are dry.

The team at Grand Millenium Al Wahda were wonderful, funny, polite and very helpful. They knew me by name from the second night and were always one step ahead anticipating what i needed next. Even the room cleaner had a big smile and made me laugh. I would definitely return there again and recommend to anyone else.

In comparison, I had stayed at the other Millenium in Abu Dhabi -- it was nice. But cold in comparison to the depth and warmth of Grand Millenium Al Waha. Keep it up guys!

Beds were amazing, so comfortable, staff extremely friendly and helpful. No alcohol licenese so restaurants were half the menu price, great half price food!
Internet connection a bit temperamental, but the hotel is fairly new so that could improve.

We have relocated to Abu Dhabi and stayed at the Grand Millennium for one month while arranging for permanent housing and it was fantastic. We stayed on the apartment side of the establishment, but I would guess that the hotel rooms are just as nice, just smaller and without kitchen facilities. The furnishings are very nice and the whole place is relatively new. The beds are also quite comfortable. The best part of our stay was the service - everyone in this hotel is super friendly and helpful. From the valet to the concierge to the cleaning staff. While there we took full advantage of the business center - nice with computer and printing facilities. I also spent a fair amount of time in the pool, gym and relaxation areas of the place while my husband was at work. They have very nice facilities - steam room, sauna and whirlpool which is segregated men and women and a public pool (with kiddie area) and lounge area on the 31st floor open to the air - it's worth it just for the view! The gym is also fully equipped with the latest and greatest - a real gem!
The restaurants are okay - they don't yet have their liquor license, but the food was decent, not extraordinary, but good. Finally, the hotel is located right next to the Al Wahda mall, which is one of the nicer ones in the city and has coffee shops, lots of shopping and a supermarket in the lower basement. It's also pretty centrally located so very easy to find a taxi and get to almost anywhere in the city.
