“Brilliant Sea View coupled with high tech”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2014

The hotel is very well equipped with all sorts of high tech gizmos in the room and everywhere
Apart from being mono color in the lobby , the hotel has a great recipe of success : Location is superb with an exquisite sea view overseeing the emirates palace and many Royal Palaces by the sea. It has a shopping mall that houses top brands and its got 3 different restaurants ranking on the top of Abudhabi. the sky bar is another major attraction in this first class piece of real estate.

the staff were mainly forthcoming friendly and well trained except for a sleepy receptionist (I arrived early morning)

Room Tip: Pick A sea view room

We stated here for 3 nights between Christmas and New Years. The hotel is very nice. Our room had amazing views, a comfy bed, and a fantastic shower.

Breakfast buffet in the Rosewater restaurant is expensive, but extensive. I especially liked that you could go to the omelette counter, tell them what you wanted and they would deliver it to you instead of having to wait. My only complaint here was that they really start to remove all the food at 11am sharp. One morning we slept in a bit and arrived around 10:40. We discovered that almost everything was being taken away when we went back for seconds at 11:05.

We also ate at Li Beirut, the Lebanese restaurant. The service and the food was great. There was a small problem with our reservation (which I will get to next) but the restaurant rectified the situation.

…and now our only real complaint: the concierge. On our first full morning we paid the concierge a visit in order to make a dinner reservation at Li Beirut as well as to book a desert safari. All seemed fine and under control. Our dinner reservation was to be at 8:30 that evening, and the following day at 3:30 was our desert safari. We even received a dinner confirmation note in our room. However, when we arrived at the restaurant that evening they couldn't find our reservation. A manager stepped in and said that he would show us to our table, then proceeded to try to give us the worst table in the entire place. When we said we would prefer a different table he said that all the other tables were reserved. We reminded him that we too had a reservation! We got a new table and the remainder of the evening was perfect. Once we got back to the room, I carefully examined the reservation confirmation and discovered the concierge made it for the wrong day (not sure how he thought we were going to do both the desert safari and dinner on the same night, since you don't return from the desert safari until almost 10, but…).

Next day, we get a call in the room at 3:05pm saying that our driver for the desert safari was waiting for us. We were surprised since we were told 3:30, but we gathered our things and went downstairs. Turns out, the pick-up time was really 2:45 and everyone (3 SUV's full of people) were waiting for us. We got the last 2 seats in all the vehicles and naturally it was the tiny third seat in a Nissan. The third seat is made for small children, not a 43 year old grown man. My husband is a tall German and he had to sit sideways as his legs were too long. Had we been properly informed of the time, we might have had an opportunity to grab a better seat.

Apart from the two slip-ups that the concierge made, it was a nice stay. The desert safari was a highlight of the trip and we would definitely recommend doing it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate that you have pointed out the positive aspects of your stay and that you are giving us a very good rating even though you have faced some issues. We have investigated the points that you mentioned and there has indeed been a mistake from our colleague who has booked the restaurant on the 30th instead of the 29th. We truly apologize for this inconvenience and we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed your dinner in Li Beirut. We extend further apologies for the wrongly advised pick-up time for your desert safari, our regular pick-up time is 3pm. Depending on the scheduling and the traffic, the driver might have reached the hotel earlier after picking up guests from other hotels. We truly appreciate you recommending Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and we are looking forward to welcoming you back.

This hotel has the wow factor and our two bed two bath apartment was amazing with excellent kitchen/living facilities. The service was excellent although over the new year period the service by the pool was slow. There was also a shortage of sunbeds because it was so busy and as the beach is small it was to overcrowded. The view from the beach was disappointing(to the left a boat yard and right a building site)
All the restaurants and bars were faultless apart from the fact that we hated the smoking in the bars(you can't get away from it). There was nothing here for the children(age 11 and 13)apart from pool.
Overall we had a lovely holiday though.

We stayed at Jumeirah at Etihad towers on various occasions. It is a very good hotel with great facilities, comfy beds, great food but make sure to stay away from the rooms with elevators next to it! We had been put close to the elevators twice now and were kept awake by the noise which sounds like traffic on a highway. The second time we specifically asked not to be put close to it and we thought we would be ok but the service elevator was next to our apartment (1802). This one cannot been seen from the corridor as it is hidden behind a service area door, so it took some time for us to understand how on earth we could hear the elevator again…….. Beside this, everything else is great: the staff is outstandingly friendly and helpful. One big smile from arrival to departure. Food is delicious and there are fabulous beach beds. We will be back but will check out the location of our room before accepting.

Location: it is close to the corniche which is a busy area but nice for a stroll. 15-20 minutes walk is the Marina Mall with lots of shops and restaurants. Taxi's in AD are good and relatively cheap and are metered.

Room Tip: Away from the elevators. Rooms with number XX01 or XX02 are likely to be next to the elevator but ch...

My husband and I stayed her for 5 nights in December 2013 arriving on Boxing Day. From the first step out of our taxi on arrival we were treated like royalty. A very warm welcome from the concierge and reception staff with a welcome drink on arrival and speedy check in. The hotel is exceptionally stylish, cosmopolitan and occupies an excellent location with the sea on one side and the fashionable Corniche on the other side.
The reception area is amazing and all rooms are uniquely designed and elegantly furnished with state of the art technology which allows you total control of lighting, sound, curtains, telephone, television, maid service all from one handset. The bathroom was amazing with fantastic views and modern amenities with everything you could need supplied including toiletries, hair dryer and a list of anything you may require at your request.
All the staff I saw during my stay were exceptionally polite and always welcomed us with a smile. They really seemed to aim to please. Each of my requests, for example I requested an Ice bucket to be brought up to my room so I could chill my wine and it was delivered to my room within 5 minutes of my request. The room we had was on the 48th floor and had an amazing views. My only moan was that there was building work opposite one one window occupying a site next to the hotel view but that was a building that was nothing to do with the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers so there was absolutely nothing that the Jumeirah hotel could do about this.
There are a number of exceptionally good quality restaurants, bars and lounges offering extensive choice including Asian, Lebanese, Japanese, International, French, Italian, Seafood and Lobby Lounge and a Lobby Bar. There is an Observation Deck located on the 74th floor of tower 2 which guests at the hotel can access giving 360 deg view of Abu Dhabi this too serves drinks and light refreshments. There is also Rays Bar serving cocktails and tapas. During our stay we went to Rays Christmas party night which was an exceptionally good night with a DJ and outstanding high panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf.
I didn't realise though that it is so difficult to buy alcohol in Abu Dhabi and this probably was a contributing factor in the high price of alcohol in the hotel. There was a fully stocked mini bar in the room but this too was very expensive. A glass of wine was the equivalent of £13 in English money and the shops in Abu Dhabi don't sell alcohol (only alcohol free beer). OK I understand this is a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices but it really adds up and is a big contributing factor. We met friends in the Hilton Hotel next door which I agree is no comparison in quality, style and wow factor of the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers but the prices were on par with English prices with my glass of wine equivalent of £5 in English money.
There are 3 good size swimming pools and again the service round the pool is top class with the pool attendant carrying your towels to your sun lounger and if there is no sun lounger where you want to lie they will go and get a lounger to put exactly where you want. The pool service is good and the staff are very attentive serving good quality, reasonably priced food including lunch around the pool. There is also a small private beach.
There is an excellent spa and gym facility at this hotel offering the complete range of treatments. There is also a dedicated club executive lounge on the 45th floor. This we discovered was good quality and value for money. We paid the equivalent of £60 each ( you paid per room) this gave us 24hrs of unlimited drinks both alcohol and soft drinks with a delicious breakfast, mid morning snacks, a lovely lunch and then dinner. If you add up how much this would have cost paying separately you make quite a saving. I fully recommend you pay for the executive lounge as you can go in and out and eat and drink as much as you like during the 24 hrs.
Housekeeping is exceptionally good with maid service twice daily. A turn down service and little added extras like chocolates left in your room, fresh fruit daily, complementary bottled drinking water, bath menu, adaptors, internet access and air con. A safety deposit box is provided free of charge in the room and complementary tea and coffee facilities.
Taxis are available from outside the hotel 24 hours with the cost of transfer from airport to hotel at £20 or less.
There is a tour desk and the staff will arrange any trips and tours to suit your individual needs. But I advise to book as soon as you can as some of the trips, for example the evening dinner cruise and lunch time cruise, get book up quickly. My advice is to get a ticket for the big bus service. For approx £35 per person you can hop on an hop off a city tour bus that covers all the major sights you would want to see in Abu Dhabi. Taxis are all registered and good value.
There is not much within walking distance of an evening except the Emirates Palace which is now a 5 star hotel and just across the road from the Jumeirah and the Marina area which is where the shopping mall is but there was only one eating place along the way with no bars or restaurants and it seems that all the entertainment is hotel based. The Corniche is advertised as the place to promanade of an evening but again there is nothing really to see but is a nice walk both daytime and eventing.
check out was very speedy and efficient with no mistakes on my bill and absolutely no complaints from me or my husband only praise for the staff, the service and the hotel.

Room Tip: Because of the design of the building all rooms get an almost panoramic view but the higher floors/r...

We stayed here for a few days but we will be back! This is a great resort holiday for couples and families. The room was spectacular - we were upgraded and so we had an even better room with amazing views, quality fittings and lots of space. We loved the special touches in the room like the linen mats by the bed, chocolates and small gifts left as a part of the bed turn down. The staff were professional and friendly, remembering you even though they must see thousands of people each day. The food at all the restaurants was exceptional. Our only gripe was the coffee which is the one very small area for improvement. this hotel was exceptional value for money.
