“Amazing!”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

It was our first visit to Abu Dhabi this May. We have visited Dubai quite frequently and wanted a change.
We were greeted with a warm reception, given a welcome drink and advised we were able to use all the hotel facilties while our room was being organised.
The room , a grand deluxe was wonderful. Spacious and located on the 48th floor. It had amazing views and was fully kitted.
The staff were attentive and always ready to help.
We dined at the restaurant Rosewater as our booking included this at Half board. This was a pleasure. Breakfast was completely fabulous. So much choice. Every evening the menu was changed with exceptional quality and service.
On the first evening we filled out our comments form with a few little niggles...the following night these were rectified to the extent that the manager, Mammoud arranged for the menu to be revised for us for the entire buffet. I was amazed that our review was acknowledged and acted upon so effectively.
The beach was cosy and clean. The hotel was not very busy. The pool and beach attendants had excellent service.
We can not praise the hotel and the staff enough. Special thanks to Mammoud for making our trip so personal and showing such a 5 star establishment will act on suggestion. It was the little things they thought of and warm welcome each morning that made it so special.
We would not hesitate to visit Jumeriah Etihad again...maybe with the family!

The Good: Nice pools and great food. We were upgraded on check-in which was a bonus. Room was very nice with sea view, a big bathroom and amazing shower. Drink and cold towel whilst we waited to check in. Reception area is great when you walk in with big glass are looking out over the pool area and beach. Black out curtains were perfect having been out the night before! Good check out time of 12pm.

The Bad: Check in took quite a long time. Building next door still being constructed, however there was no building work noise just spoiled the surrounding view.

The Ugly: Nothing to report!

Room Tip: Sea View Rooms are good

We thank you for the review and are happy to know you had an enjoyable stay with us.

Apologies for the delay during check-in and the nearby construction, which we hope won’t take too long to be completed.

We actually stayed over the hotel during Justin Timberlake's recent concert in Abu Dhabi and it was one of the best decisions ever. We booked a Grand Deluxe King room for two nights and we were not disappointed with what we saw upon entering the room. The room size was just massive and a had a stunning view of the sea.

Service was impeccable from the moment we handed the car keys to the valet until check-out. The staff members are very warm and welcoming, it feels very genuine. I liked the fact that the hostess that showed us the room was recommending activities that she would personally do if she was on this 2-day stay, a personal touch is always good.

The breakfast buffet was excellent in both Nahaam and Rosewater. But personally, I preferred the selection and ambience of Rosewater. A definite must try for dinner as well.

The pool was excellent but the beach was just "meh". But anyway, the pool definitely made-up for it. Especially loved the pool bar as you can enjoy a drink (and watch a football game) while being in the water all at the same time. That's my definition of a real vacation!

I would greatly recommend this hotel to people residing outside of Abu Dhabi and come stay for a long weekend. This might just become of one of your favorite nearby getaway destinations.

Room Tip: Tip! The pool bar doesn't serve alcohol before 12nn. Must wait for that margarita this summer.

My only gripe was the turn down service on the last two nights was forgotten about, which may sound trivial but it's the little things that make the difference. It has a long way to go to be as good as the Burj Al Arab, although the food at the Burj was disappointing for the money. I couldn't fault anything else, very friendly and hot.

Room Tip: Are room was overlooking the Marina Mal and it was fabulous.

We stayed at the Etihad towers between the 28th May-1st June, as a family of 4 (2 children 9,6).
Hotel is amazing, our room on the 57 floor had great views of the beach, sea and islands and was of the highest standard.
The pool area is nice, 3 pools, a beach and most importantly is not too crowded. The pool staff are very good as well, in particular a chap called "Tiku" who was always on hand to attend to our needs in the blistering heat- a great asset to the hotel.
We ate at the rose water restaurant and it is a nice spread for both breakfast and dinner, a wide range of foods and of a high quality. Desmond is very attentive and looks after you, even asking if we want the chef to make a specific dish- a great guy! There was also another lad (forgot his name) who I think is Desmond's boss who is also a great guy.
The Nahaam restaurant is also very good for standard food types- great pizzas!
The gym is modern, well equipped and very clean and the rooms are cleaned twice a day if you wish
There is a mall connected to the hotel with high end shops and a Waitrose- very convieniant!
If in Abu Dhabi, this is the place to stay!!

Room Tip: High as possible

We chose this hotel having stayed at other Jumeirah properties in Dubai (the Mina a Salam, the Dar al Masyaf & the Sabeel Zaray). We were sure we wouldn't be disappointed as the standards set by Jumeirah are so high, and we were right.

The hotel is as beautiful as you would expect, the attention to detail is everywhere to see and you can't fail to be impressed by it. As others have mentioned, the pools are totally in the shade by 3pm (just after 2pm this week for the main pool). It's quite amusing watching everyone chasing the last of the sun to the far outreaches of the beach/sea every day! This is not the hotel's fault (unless they had the option to purchase more land adjacent to the hotel and didn't) as the surrounding skyscrapers currently being built block the sun quite drastically. It's still hot so most people were ok with this, it's just worth a mention if you're a dedicated sun worshiper.

We had a few niggles with being given incorrect information on check in & upgrading to the club executive lounge a couple of days later, but the hotel more than made up for these niggles and we left feeling we had received the 5 star treatment we expected and paid for.

My family and I agree that we would not hesitate in returning to the Etihad Towers or recommending it to anyone, although our personal preference is for more space around a hotel (gardens, larger pool & beach areas) and this would probably govern our next choice of hotel.

Do not hesitate to visit Abu Dhabi if you've previously been a Dubai regular, you won't be disappointed with the quality or variety of things to do and judging by the mind boggling amount of construction going on everywhere, every day that passes there will be more to see and do!

Thank you Jumeirah for another fantastic holiday. See you again soon (we hope!!).

We stayed in a luxury room on a 3-for-2 plan and loved it. The marble foyer, marble room entrance and bathroom were only the start. The service was exemplary at all times, without being overpowering.

The room was very spacious, with a king sized bed and all that you could want in little touches from fresh fruit to fresh rose, robes and slippers, extra water, shoe horn, turn-down chocolates to bathroom toiletries. Safe, sofa, desk, bench, big TV, etc, were all there.

The bathroom was very large and had a full-length bath and two hand basins. The comfy toilet and bidet had their own room and the large shower room was excellent. My special issue is shaving mirrors - the one provided was illuminated and was excellent in size, functionality and location. Four towels and washers were provided each day for two people.

Our 34th floor room had an excellent view. Only 12 rooms were on the floor, it was very quiet and service was superb.

The excellent breakfast had Western, Asian and Middle East options. My request for gluten free bread was met fully as they supplied three types of tasty GF bread.

Only negative issues were a complicated lighting system that took some getting used to, a loose wire on the TV and a black hair in the shower room on our first day, and one hand towel was worn.

We both loved the place.
