The museums are not finished yet and due to open in 2015 and after seeing this I am very eager to visit again when it's open - the main museums are going to be the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
The current exhibition is mainly taking your through the past, present and future of Saadiyat island plus there are great prototypes of how the area will look like when it's all finished and it wont be just the museum that will be a hit but also the architecture - really looking forward to it being open.

Thank Sara M

The Manarat al Saadiyat is an exhibition / cultural / arts centre located on Saadiyat Island.

There are art exhibitions here through the year but the main attraction is the Saadiyat Island story, which is multi-media exhibition outlining the plans for Saadiyat in the coming years.

If they build all that is on display then Abu Dhabi will be a great place to visit (until they build all these attractions, i.e. Louvre and Guggenheim museums etc, its a bit of a one-dimensional destination).

But this attraction is worth a visit - it's free and after the Grand Mosque about the only other thing worth seeing in Abu Dhabi until they realise their plans. The Fanr restaurant is a good place for lunch or coffee.

Recently visited the venue having read some press on the facility. Was extremely disappointed that at the time of my visit (early September) none of the art galleries were open. The earliest date the attend could confirm an exhibition being held was for the end of October.

To top it off the only gallery in operation turned out to be a thinly disguised sales and marketing suite for the Saadiyat residential opportunities.

Give this a miss.

The general info section was open which shows the ambitious plans for Louvre and Guggenheim. There are also 3 exhibition halls. The exhibition in halls 2 and 3 ended in August and the exhibition in hall 1 will start in October. As it was September there was therefore no exhibition to visit.....
Fortunately the cafe was open. This is a very nice place to relax and have lunch. They serve a tasty camel burger.

I frequently visit Manarat Al Saadiyat as it offers a nice piece of culture that was absent in Abu Dhabi for many years. Have visited the permanent Saadiyat Island exhibit a many times and always bring visiting friends of family to see. I wish for a few more exhibitions though
