“Poor communications”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

I arrived to find only one exhibit, and it was a sculpture in the lobby. ONE. I tried finding others and was informed there are no exhibits until November. That's three months from now. The website should clearly state this so people like myself would not waste our time and cab fare traveling to and from the site, weaving in between all the construction. I was not the only one, either. Two other families showed up and were frustrated that they had to get a cab after only being at Manarat for 5 minutes.

Oh, and by the way, no cabs came here on their own. They specifically must be called for a pick up.

I was very disappointed that I wasted my time. All other art and cultural museums I have visited have a significant permanent display even if there aren't any special exhibitions at that time. Manarat should consider this to avoid turning off more visitors.

“Disappointing...”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

If there was an exhibition with the 'history of the world in 1000 items' those would be the last ten!!!
If you do not know anything about history u might like it but most probably you will learn history the wrong way...

“For the artsy”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

I went to see an exhibition being hosted during the Ramadan period entitled History of the World in a 100 Objects. It provided to be informative on world history, exactly as described. The audio tour provided further information and we spend about 2 hours examining the various fascinating objects on display such as a tiny gold statue or coins from BCE. In addition there was also a photography exhibition with some stunning photos that could be mistaken for paintings. Since photography is prohibited within the exhibitions, we took very few pictures. For those famished after touring, they have an excellent cafeteria. Put this place on your to-do list of Abu Dhabi if you have the slightest interest in the arts.

“A look into the future”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Not much here yet but the exhibition about the cultural district under construction is an incentive to be in Abu Dhabi in a few years when it's all complete. Worth a look but not much else there yet.
