“RTA is the best.”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

I think the RTA was the only cool thing about it. The concept is interesting but you cannot see much of the cool nerdy stuff.

“Good progress so far, more to follow...”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

Around 1/3 of Masdar is complete with a forecast completion date of 2025 for the remaining two thirds. By Masdar City aspires to have become a global clean energy & urban cluster, incorporating research, development, technology demonstration and though leadership in the Cleantech space, all powered by clean electricity (mainly Solar PV). On arrival, one is met at reception on ground level and offered an overview of the project and progress via a 3D display model. Then you're invited to take a seat in a driverless car (max. four people) which takes you to the main reception on the 1st floor, either for a guided tour (needs pre-booking) or simply to explore the development at one's own pace. The construction of the Labs, Student Living Accommodation and other buildings is very impressive indeed and various small cafes, shops and restaurants are located within the recreational areas in order to get food and refreshments. If the final two thirds (business space and urban accommodation) develop along the same lines - I'm moving there!

“No need to see this ghost town”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Once a concept for future cities it just sits on a huge area of "city land" like many other UAE cities. Giant areas that are designated to be built out of the sand. Masdar doesn't seem to have anything new built in over 5 years and I can't imagine it ever will. Too bad.

“Great for children ages 2-4 or fans of Star Wars”
Reviewed 14 May 2014 via mobile

The concept behind Masdar City is excellent, but not yet developed enough to be considered a tourist attraction. The reason I say it is good for young children and Star Wars fans is you have to take a futuristic pod car to the center where you will find a coffee shop, sushi restaurant, and organic grocery store. There needs to be more information to the public on what Masdar City is all about upon visiting.
