If your visit to the city is for business affairs is a very good option, and has an excellent quality-price value. Large room with a superb king size bed. Semi open bathroom with an oval tube overlooking outside throught the very large window of the room. Mini bar, coffee machine, small desk...
Very good breakfast buffet, with a wide selection of fresh fruits, homemade pastry and mermelades, and hot dishes a la carte
Restaurant with a good choice of mediterranean cuisine: italian, greek, lebanese, syrian...good portion, prices a little higher. Nice views to the city, with also an outside terrace. Excellent attention.

Room Tip: A top floor overlooking the city, final 6-

Having to attend a conference in Abu Dhabi, I could not help selecting the Hyatt Capital Gate,
with its unique shape and architecture.

We had a room at the 29th floor. It was very nice with again an original shape and layout.

The service was excellent and the prices in the restaurants were reasonable.

It is rare for me to award an excellent rating as, expert in quality, I am used to find issues and opportunities for improvement, but this time, none!!!

Room Tip: The higher, the nicer is the view.

Called in to this hotel for a quick drink and snack after visiting the grande mosque, went up to the bar on the 18th floor, couldn't sit on the outside terrace as it was being cleaned, so we ate inside the food was excellent.
Later my wife did walk on to the terrace and took some photos, had a very pleasant couple of hours here but be careful of the tables some are made from natural stone and have sharp edges as my watch found out.

We stayed in a Capital Suite for one night recently, whilst in Abu Dhabi on a special rate, booked via Agoda.com. We were really impressed with the the Hotel, from the unusual structure, through to the luxurious facilities, and all the attentive staff we met during our stay. The Suite itself was immaculate, thoughtful touches to enhance your enjoyment, fantastic views from every room, massive comfortable bed, and stunning bathroom. It would have been an amazing stay had we not had a major incident with the jacuzzi bath. I was really upset and humiliated as a result, which certainly affected my overall enjoyment. It was handled super efficiently by all the staff involved, but it may have been avoided if there was an instruction manual in the room to describe how to use all the technology, such as the aircon/lights/jacuzzi. It wasn't helped by a female receptionist telling me that surely anyone knows how to use a bath, when I went to reception to apologise for the disruption.
However, this is no ordinary bath, given that not only does the bath need to be filled above the jets, there is an external trough which also needs to be filled in order for it to operate. The left hand tap operates both the shower head when turned to the right, and fills the bath from the central filler, which you can't see filling when it's under the water, when it's turned to the left. So when you think this tap is off, (middle position) it keeps filling up! The plug also operates by leaning into the very deep bath and pressing it to release, keep trying if it doesn't release first time.
This was meant to be an enjoyable stay to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and despite the upset, the other thoughtful touches, birthday cake, wine, fruit and chocolates in the room, made us feel special.
As we were at the Hotel on a Friday, we booked the obligatory 'Brunch', followed by the advertised 'sundowner' cocktails on the terrace afterwards. The brunch was a bit of a let down, when compared to others we have been to in the City. There was quite a limited choice, but where other reviewers have criticised the service, we found the staff in the restaurant to be pleasant, efficient and super attentive. We were also unimpressed by the cocktails on the terrace, we were given plastic bacardi beakers with our drinks in. This was despite another customer drinking from what appeared to be a clear glass. We were informed that we were given these due to the 'wind' & 'health & safety'. In our opinion, this seriously let the aesthetics of the Hotel down, and feel that they should invest in some clear plastic glasses, such as the ones used for iced water around the beautiful, scenic swimming pool. The sun also goes off both terraces, the pool and drinks terrace in the afternoon, a blessed relief from the intense summer sun, but not really suitable venues to watch the sun going down.
As described in the title, this is an exceptional first class Hotel, with a few minor flaws which could easily be rectified. I would certainly stay again despite our experience, and have already recommended it to our Abu Dhabi friends. It is located quite a way out of the City, but this is ideal for those wanting a quiet, relaxing stay.

Great hotel. Certainly felt like luxury. Nothing was too much of problem for the staff and they tried their hardest to make every part of our short stay great. The room had everything you needed (including lots of water). The gym was well appointed, with lots of new, clean gear. The pool view was spectacular. Both pool attendants were helpful, but not overbearing. They looked after our luggage at the end of our stay and made sure it was ready when we returned from shopping on the way to the airport.

From room service to restaurants, the services were excellent. Strategic location if you are attending conference or exhibition in ADNEC. However, it is far from the city center or any attraction, so plan your trip if you stay here for leisure.

Dear Tpengl,

Thank you for staying with us at the Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, indeed the location right at the door step of the Exhibition is ideal for those guests attending a conference or an exhibition.

Considering the vast layout of the city however, there are various areas of Abu Dhabi which are easily reachable by taxi, to include the Corniche downtown area by taxi in about 15 min at approx 10USD.

We would hope you will visit us again in the near future, it would be pleasure to be again of your assistance.

Sincerely and with kind regards

This hotel is real luxury. I stayed in quite many 5* hotels in Abu Dhabi but this one was (taking price and services both into account) far the best. They provide guests with lots of bottled water (more than average 2) and use to refill during evening "bed time" preparation room visit. The same with illy coffee machine. Nice touch. Architecture brilliant, in room decorations pure luxury, comfy bed, exellent bath in semi-open bathroom from where you can watch TV ( built-in repro) :-). Roof top pool has marvelous views! That the hotel is in middle of nowhere is not completely true, some good hotels ( with good restaurants) walking distance around, mall within 10 mins with taxi (10 dhs). Also in AD ( because of the weather, missing side walks, cheap gas) everybody use taxis/cars to travel every..so no difference where you stay. The only where I found the hotel could improve is to provide free wifi. I am sure guest would rather pay some more (7) bucks more in 1 night price rather than to be charged separately. Apart from no free wifi, this hotel scored 100% for me!

Dear Peon27

Thank you very much for staying with us at the Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi and your detailed review.

I am very pleased to read that you have enjoyed your time with us and services provided. Indeed we are very fortunate of the unique iconic design and architecture which has granted a permanent feature in the Guinness Book of Records due to the 18 degree leaning of the building.

Indeed the infiniti pool on the 19th floor is another unique design element, literally clipped to the building exterior, an ideal place to unwind after a busy work day.

We are currently looking at the WIFI situation to eventually provide a better solution any time soon.

We would hope to welcome you back again soon to our hotel, please do let us know if we can be of assistance in making any arrangements.

Sincerely and with kind regards
