“Nice relaxing stay”
Reviewed 11 October 2013 via mobile

We visited this property in the month of May, when the temperatures just started soaring. Room decor was absolutely fabulous and contemporary. Check-in staff was bit rude and could have been more welcoming. Kids loved the pool and the cocktails served in the outdoor jacuzzi served the purpose of being more relaxed. Breakfast was of a great variety and high quality. Worth the visit, but a repeat is ruled out.

Dear Keen_traveller_2912,

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your positive feedback and apologize for the disappointment during check in. We are glad that you commented so positively on our great 52sqm large rooms and our nice pool facilities.

You might change your might on a return visit and if so I look forward to welcoming you back.
With kind regards

Anantara properties are quite unique in their choice of locations around the world and more so in the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular. After having spent two days of pure bliss in their property in the Maldives, we just checked out of the Eastern Mangroves and I must say, they have not only chosen a rare location in the heart of the city but have also been able to reproduce that distinct zenful attribute which demarks them from their competitors.

The choice of earthly warm colours throughout the hotel blends quite nicely with the surrounding environment and double glazed windows completely shield their occupants from the outside world: you might be in the heart of the city but would definitely not feel like venturing outside of the hotel grounds. Rooms are very well appointed and feature memory foam mattresses and intelligently carved sitting areas, the highlight of course being the endless mangrove vista with gently rolling water canals.

The temperature controlled infinity pool boasts a deep azure coating, an invitation for a plunge or a simple dip. Discrete pool staff distribute iced cold towels and lavender sprays, prolonging that feeling of serenity. Further afield, a flock of seagulls gather on the shores of the mangroves, enjoying the last rays of light before nightfall.

Room Tip: Mangrove rooms for a proper experience

Attended a Paddle in Pink event with Claire Patterson and the Seahawk kayak team around the Eastern Mangroves for Breast Cancer month. It was great! 2 hours of fun! After that stayed at the Eastern Mangroves Hotel. We were able to book in very early, which was a great bonus. We stayed in a mangrove facing room with balcony. It was beautiful and spacious, enormous bed and lovely touches with orchids on the floor of the shower. The staff were helpful and attentive, nothing seemed too much trouble. The peace that surrounded the hotel was blissfull, just watching the birds and the gentle ebb and flow of the mangroves at the edge of a city was fab!
For business meetings or just to get away from it all this hotel is a must - I can see why people that live in Dubai go to the Eastern Mangroves Hotel to chill! Great views of the Mangroves too from impressions, showing how vast they are.

This hotel is extremely luxurious and modern. The spa experience was fantastic with great ambience. Both restaurants, poolside snacks and in room dining offered exceptional service and food of a very high standard.
Located approximately 15 minutes by taxi to the city, this hotel is a little on the quieter side but offers so much and should not put you off as taxis are relatively cheap.

I'm from Los Angeles and have been living in Abu Dhabi for the last 2 years, I've been to just about every spa in Abu Dhabi and have had some amazing treatments. This last weekend however, I was fortunate to have had a Hammam (Morrocan bath) treatment followed by a 60 minute deep tissue massage that was so memorable I had to tell everyone about it.

It was by far one of the best treatments I've had in the last 2 years. The massage rooms were spacious and welcoming, perfectly lighted and well decorated, the Hammam room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. But as you know, what truly makes the treatment exceptional are the therapists. For the Hammam ask for Hakan (male) one of the best in town and nicest guy ever or Gibzy (female) who is skillfully thorough at her job.
Then for the best deep tissue massage you will ever have, ask for Darani (aka Nee). She proved to me quickly that she knew my body and my trouble areas better than I did and she was determined to take care of those nasty knots.

For the Hammam treatment, never be shy about asking for deeper pressure, after all, you want to make sure you are getting the most out of your treatment. I highly recommend these 3 therapist and the Eastern mangrove spa and its friendly staff.

Enjoy!

After a long week, we met at Eastern Mangroves for a night out with the ladies- not a tacky ladies night- and had an amazing evening! We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze and brilliant atmosphere here! Thank you guys!! I think I might need to bring my hubby back next week for some R&R! What a lovely hotel!!

Dear CarrieandCrew

Thank you for rewarding us with your nice review! I am happy to read that you liked our hotel and consider a return with your husband. Perhaps you might schedule this for a Tuesday when we hold our fabulous Cheese & Wine evenings at Impressions Rooftop Bar? It has become a popular night at the hotel with its beautiful vista over the Abu Dhabi Mangroves.

I await your return and remain.

Everything in this hotel is very good. The spa is very good specially the Thai lady Nee. She not only good also full of knowledge on how to look after the skin.
One thing I didn't like when we arrived ... the receptionist ignored me and spoke to Phil even though I asked the questions and the booking and credit card are in my name - so rude by the way I'm Asian. Need diversity and equality training to put in their training and development. Over all this hotel give you everything you need and the luxurious you wanted.
