The service and attention to detail are amongst the best we have experienced at five star hotels throughout the world. The staff couldn't be more attentive even remembering your name after only meeting you once!

The rooms and facilities were well appointed and luxurious. Breakfast was out of this world and caters for all tastes including glutton free and is in abundance. The hotel offers great sanctuary from the city but yet within a ten minutes drive of the centre and 29 minutes from the fabulous Yas Island.

I would definitely be returning here on our next visit to Abu Dhabi. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay so comfortable and welcoming.

We stayed at this hotel in December 2013. The hotel is certainly a nice change from crowded Dubai or Abu Dhabi. However I would not recommend staying longer than 2 days as there isn't really much to do at the hotel itself. If you are planning to get some sun it might be a good idea to go to the nearby beach as the hotel does not get any sun in the afternoon.

This was the second time we stayed in Eastern Mangroves (2013 and now 2014). This time we stayed in the Eastern Mangroves hotel during January for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in several hotels in Abu Dhabi (Fairmont, Hyatt Capital Gate, Viceroy, Sofitel and can say that Eastern Mangroves is absolutely top in service and quality!

The pro’s:
+ Room (Kasara Mangroves view) was very clean, large and nice interior colors. Room and bathroom were kept very clean. The balcony with a view on the mangroves was marvelous. We spend most of the day on the balcony just enjoying the wonderful views and relaxed atmosphere.
The bathroom is large and very clean. Last year we had an issue with the shower, the pressure and hot/cold feature was not working correctly, but this time it work very well.
+ Our room has access to the Kasara lounge. A very nice and quiet 2 story lounge with a wonderful balcony to sit on. Whilst we thought the food selection was OK, the “happy hour” was every evening a nice treat and any time of the day it was nice to go to the lounge and enjoy a nice coffee or cold drink. However, most impressive was the service and the persons working in the Kasara lounge. It gave our stay that extra touch and memory. We would like to thank Shanyan, Fatima and Sri for their excellent and professional service. They were very attentive and wish all hotels in the world had a Shanyan, Fatima and Sri team!
+ In general, the staff at Eastern Mangroves was very friendly and professional. Compliments for the breakfast staff. Always attentive and pro-actively serving coffee and taking care of your needs.
+ Public areas were very clean and beautiful lay out.
+ The hotel is very well located. It takes about 15 minutes to Abu Dhabi by car (Abu Dhabi Mall) but at the same time you are nicely out of the city situated next to the beautiful mangroves. A nice path along the mangroves to take nice walks. And a 2 minute walks brings you to a lovely little plaza with a Waitrose (very good to buy some snacks, breads, drinks, etc.) and restaurants (Lebanese Café (delicious food for a good price), Indian restaurant (pushy waiters), Seafood and soon to be opened an Italian restaurant, steak restaurant, Starbucks and Johnny Rockets
+ Breakfast was great! Set in one of the most wonderful areas you can imagine. Very nice selection (the fruit juice selection is terrific). Very clean. Staff is very attentive. Every morning a joy to wake up and go down to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant.
+ The swimming pool area is a bit small. There were some comments about chairs being “reserved”. Indeed that was the case, but it appeared that no one ever had a problem finding a good spot.
+ Room service: As my wife got sick, we ordered 2 times room service. For a change, compared to other hotels, the food was brought on time and tasted delicious!
+ Gym: Large, lots of equipment and friendly staff.

The con’s
The only con we can give is that staying at Eastern Mangroves is so relaxing that time is flying too fast.

Conclusion: Great service and staff, wonderful large rooms, good location and views. A hotel that goes beyond your expectations! Recommended and your number 1 choice in Abu Dhabi.

I spent the weekend at this hotel on Thursday and Friday 13 and 14 February 2014.
I just loved it and let me tell you why. On Thursday evening they had a lovely buffet outside by the pool. It was cool outside but they had set up two wood fire places that were: warming up the place, cooking the salmon and lamb, and adding an air of romance and outdoor adventure. They also had heating up devices placed next to your table if you needed additional heat. The buffet was very delicious. In particular, the smoked lamb was amazing.
On Friday, I swam at the lovely pool in spite of the cool weather. In the evening, I went for the buffet and I was dazzled by the Hammour/Grouper fish. It was the best hammour I’ve ever had. Chef Zakaria cooked it the Moroccan way and it was so delicious. Thank you Zakaria.
In addition to the food and the pool, I enjoyed the beautiful view of the mangroves from my room.
I also loved my room since it had a balcony enabling fresh air to come in. Most hotels here do not have a balcony but this one does. The balcony had a table and a couple of chairs. I could sit there and sip coffee while looking over the swimming pool and the mangroves.
I also would like to thank Hayat from the reception. She was very professional and courteous.
The towels in the room were a downside. They were old and harsh on the skin. I told housekeeping and they brought me new ones that were soft. Nevertheless, a 5 star hotel should only have new towels. If they feel so strongly about the environment, then they should simply donate the old towels to a two star hotel instead of irritating their guests.
Other than that, the desks in the room don't have a lamp desk, which is weird. I asked engineering and they brought me an additional makeshift lamp.
Housekeeping does a good job but when you call them to come to clean your room, it takes them easily one or two hours to get there. It seems they are short staffed.
Overall, my experience about the hotel is very positive and I would recommend it for a weekend break provided that you stay at the high floors overlooking the mangroves.

Room Tip: Choose a Mangroves Balcony Room. The extra money is worth it as the view is splendid.

Fantastic stay in this hotel for 2 nights with family and friends. Only a one hour drive from Dubai and very easy to find. Will be back for more!!! From having lived in the region for 10 years and have had the fortune of staying in most of the top hotels, I have to say that the all of the staff were extremely professional, kind and just great with children. Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had the Friday brunch which I would highly recommend - the choice of food was as good as the Dubai brunches and the outlook over the mangroves made a pleasant change. The live band was also excellent.

Amazing hotel, situated next to the mangroves just outside of Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival, great reception and impressive foyer with a beautiful fountain. Rooms are spacious and to a very high standard. The view not so good, overlooking the mangroves is very much over hyped, and is simply just a cluster of trees. Quite a distance from downtown Abu Dhabi, and is a 10-15 minute taxi ride. Can get very loud at night, as the hotel is very busy. All in all, excellent hotel, but poor customer service as the staff seem very judgmental and are only looking to please a certain clientele which a hotel like this attracts.

We are still at the hotel nut are leaving tomorrow morning :o( we have experienced a beautiful 5 star hotel (with an upgraded room including the Kasara lounge - if you can afford it, worth it as it includes breakfast and evening snacks and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages - as much as you'd like) the staff are wonderful and i mean in the most genuine way possible like their job is not a job in the normal sense and you are treated like royalty regardless of money. From the wonderful welcome and continuous help from Irina in the lobby to Anna in the Kasara lounge (and also the other lady - so sorry we didn't get your name) to Sri who we met in the lounge on our last day - who was so passionate without the usual 'selling' just si informative about Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering so much knowledge and assistance to the point that when we left the lounge to try out the Impressions' bar for a farewell drink came up later and asked us about our departure and could he help us with a taxi and getting our baggage collected from our room and again i mean without feeling like you have to make excuses to be left alone. All of the staff in from those in Ingredients the breakfast room- any kind of coffee you would like to a fresh made omelette to the lounge staff and reception to bar staff and finally to the cleaners who i must say i don't think we saw one yet the place is immaculate - was a joy to stay here. Thank you to everyone!! X
