“Still performing well, still great value.”
Reviewed 10 October 2012

I reviewed this hotel (Location, Location, Location) back in February and have spent 5 more weekends there since. My comments don't really change. Excellent location, the hotel is somewhat faded in places but clean and comfortable. Decent pools and beach, great breakfast and above all the rooms are half the cost of most of the glass palaces. Book the club floor with the inclusive drinks and breakfast and internet package and it will still be cheaper. Just remember that Abu Dhabi is not the Seychelles.

October 5, 2012 4 nights CLUB ROOM

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews we were a little unsure what to expect and a little hesitant in deciding but the price was so appealing and as soon as we walked in the door we knew we would love it! Welcomed like royalty!
The lobby has elegant, old traditional charm, the door staff are so so helpful, friendly and smiley. The reception is a little slow (and the girls need to smile more) but we had a difficult check in. I feel it could have been dealt with more efficiently and I did get stressed after quite a wait but.the manager came out and invited us to wait in the coffee shop 'till it was rectified.
The building is clearly old and there are several things that need a little attention but for us it added ambiance and to be honest, it was lovely not to be in a typical Emirate style huge, tall, modern hotel for a change. This is a resort, not a hotel.
The lobby is lit up every night with lots of candles which gives a lovely glow and makes it look very Arabic.
Our room was on the 5th floor and it was a little small so we moved to a larger one with no balcony but who can sit on a balcony in 35 degree heat??
Our new room had an issue with the AC and the damp smell it produced but we kept spraying room spray and to be honest we did not want to move again and unpack for the second time.
I'm certain the hotel would have moved us if we asked.
The facilities here are fantastic for the price we paid. Three Pools, the main one is so lovely, large and clean with plenty of sun beds available and a great pool bar where the service is second to none. Try the Thai prawn salad!!
Friendly life guards there for your childrens safety and a truly perfect little private beach which is just great for kids and adults.Warm sea water, not one bit of litter on the beach and shallow enough to wallow like we did:o) (the high salt content makes it easy to float)
This is a really laid back and relaxing place to be.I could quite easily enjoy a week here without having to leave the resort. The Main City centre Mall is a 5-10 minute walk and there is a smaller centre across the pedestrian bridge. Even a taxi from this hotel was reasonably priced but make sure you ask for "regular taxi" as the limo ones charge more!
The gardens are REALLY well kept and the Bird aviary seemed well looked after, even though I do not agree with caged animals. It was fun to see the macaws being fed and sitting on the mans shoulders.
There are so many restaurants to chose from: French, Italian...Lebanese was great, Thai buffet was so nice with live music and a view of the sea.(lovely lovely staff) The English Pub seemed fun and the Sports Bar is a good place if you miss your Premiership games like we do!
Food Prices are High when you have a full evening meal and I would pay as you go if you dont want a whacking bill when you check out! Don't forget all the prices are without tax!
DO NOT miss the Spa, it's a place we went every afternoon and if your a "real man" take a dip in the cold plunge pool! The massages are reasonably priced and the place is just as relaxing as you can get.
All in all we loved our.4 days here and will return soon with our friends.
I would definitely recommend staying here for business or pleasure but shop around for prices.
(We will look at other rooms before deciding where to stay this time}

Room Tip: Check the room before you decide to sleep there and maybe ask to see an alternative.

Stayed 2 nights on a work trip. The staff at reception are great, but the staff in the restaurants weren't very helpful or attentive. Took a while to order and the food service was slow.

Having said that there's a good choice of food options, with a strip of restaurants / bars out in the courtyard area. All well frequented by people not staying at the hotel so always busy and had a good atmosphere.

The pool and beach were great - lots of loungers, very clean, little cafe for lunch snacks.

My room was ok, but not great. Looked over a large terrace which as a single traveller wasn't the best, but the windows locked. Comfy bed, small desk, older style bathroom, water provided in the rooms.

Smoking throughout the hotel and in the restaurants which I didn't enjoy.

Good location with a mall across the road. Very clean and security on the main door at nights so felt safe.

The breakfast was the standard buffet options and again the service was really slow. I had dinner in the bar one night until the smoke got unbearable and the food was ok.

I'd recommend it for a short business trip or stopover, but I think there's better luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi if you were on holiday.

Arrived at the hotel at 6:30am in the morning after an overnight flight from Italy. Had previously requested an early check-in if possible. Was met by the night manager Chandrakant who advised me that everything was in order and the room was ready for immediate occupancy as he said they get a lot of these early morning requests due to flight arrival times and they try to accomodate as many as possible.Check in went very well and was in the room on the 4th floor in no time. Room was excellent for our overnight stay. Clean, tidy and airconditioning running to keep it cool. 2 bottles of water were provided free of charge with tea and coffee making facitites.2 Bottles of water were also provided in the bathroom for brushing teeth etc I did not ask but used them instead of the Tap water. The Hotel is within a village with many restaurants to chose from within the confinds so no need to go elsewhere to eat at night. Only 300mtrs away is a shopping mall and food court for lunch and a very cheap co op next door to buy chips ,nuts etc if required. There is a private beach and swimming pool out back of the resort for guest use only which is great to cool off.
All tours can be booked from the reception so all in all this is a great small hotel with some old world charm that certainly need a look out when going to Abu Dhabi and I will certainly be booking here again when stopping over to and from Australia.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor are Non smoking

We decided at short notice to have a few nights in Abu Dhabi, primarily to visit the amazing Mosque and the F1 track on Yas Island. We were not dissapointed! Our Seaview Club Room was small, but comfortable and clean with a nice bathroom. The view was not a lot to write home about, but that was not a big issue as we didn't spend much time on the balcony. We ate at the Thai restaurant on the buffet night and were more than happy with the variety and quality of food on offer. On the third evening we tried the main restaurant for the Asian buffet, but having seen the less than inspiring hot food choices decided to stick to the salad option with a few pieces of sushi, which was adequate for us.
The pool and beach area was very comfortable with plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas and was kept spotlessly clean. There were a couple of table tennis tables which were well used throughout the day and the pool bar offered a good choice of food and drink at reasonable prices.
We only used the small Club Lounge in the evenings and enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks. Our glasses were never empty due to the attentive staff.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. It was pretty much what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
All the staff we came in contact with were charming and helpful and my only gripe was the poor wi-fi connection which was not available in the room without charge.
One evening my wife was unable to connect at all whilst I had no difficulty and the following night it was vice versa. Odd, to say the least. Unfortunately wifi seems to be an issue with hotels around the world, so I kind of expected problems. It is time hotels took a leaf out of the Accor Hotel Group who will be offering free wi-fi in all their properties.
Apart from that I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this hotel especially in a Club room.

Room Tip: Reccomend a Club Room for the good value it offers including breakfast, complimentary soft drinks du...

My wife and I travelled from Dubai and stayed here overnight for a work function. The hotel is very dated and requires refurbishing. The staff were friendly and helpful. My main complaint was the fact that the hotel allows smoking in the restaurant. We asked for a non smoking table, we were shown to a table on a raised area, we started to eat our breakfast and were quickly engulfed in smoke from the tables below. At one point there were twelve people all smoking within 10 feet of us and below so all the smoke came up towards us.
Also there was no view at all from the room apart from trees very close, we were in a room above NRG sports bar.

we stayed there for 2 nights for the weekend.Although the hotel is old but still one of the great hotels in Abu Dhabi, the hotel is beautiful especially with an access to the beach, the staff there are very friendly and smliy especially the philipino trainee waiter(sorry i can't remember his name). The pool food was not up to our expectations. The breakfast buffet was decent, food was good especially the omelet.
