“Outstanding service/facilities”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

Stayed at the Hilton for 5 nights and really enjoyed my stay. What sets the hotel apart from other 4-5* properties is its outstanding level of service. The staff is wonderful and provides real service from the heart. The hotel is old, but well kept. The rooms are small, but functional and comfortable. The breakfast is very good. The beach club across the road (connected via a tunnel) has great facilities and beach. The only downside is the construction site nearby which goes on 24/7. There is slight noise at night.
Overall a great experience!

One of the perks of playing in this tournament was having the accommodations provided for by the tournament organizers. The rooms were great and so was the breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. I was treated very well and the servers actually remembered that I was always the first one in for breakfast and what I like to drink.

The hotel has a private beach that is located across the highway. You can get there through the underground walkway located at the front of the hotel. All the amenities are there. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, beach side bar/restaurant, volleyball courts, a small pier, fitness centre.

It is also a stone's throw from one of the largest mall in the city.

a very nice hotel in AD, but I found it really expensive compared to other hotels offering similar level of comfort. I still recommend it, but be ready to spend a lot...

We stayed at the hilton for a few nights on a stopover to europe. we got the exec room for a pretty good price and it was sure worth the extra cash. checked in early at 8am which was great after long flight, they even offered us breakfast which we took up and werent disappointed. it was probably the best i have had, had everything you could ask for and more. we ate breakfast in main area and not exec lounge, you have the choice and we went on previous reviews. overall hotel is in good location, it has a really nice beach club across the road. u could come here just for a beach holiday. the only downside for the hotel is the rooms are slightly outdated for a hilton, but for what else we got we were very happy.. we visited the palace and if i was to come back i would prob stay there, it looked unbelievable and when i saw prices it seemed quite reasonable. we also did the 4wd desert thing which was well worth it.

I stayed for approx 2 hours in this hotel before checking out and moving to the Emirates Palace The rooms are tired and in need of updating. The supposed 'sea view ' room was a joke. The only place you could see the sea from within the room was from the hallway as you entered the room. Hugely dissapointing. For a 5* hotel the rrom was basic and lacked the luxuries you would normally expect of a hotel of this rating

This is not the usual 5* luxury you would normally expect from the Hilton group and we were hugely dissapointed with the facilities. It is not 'on ' the beach as described as you have to go through an underpass ( a 4 lane dual carriageway separates the hotel from the beach facilities) to reach the pool and beach areas.

I would now ensure that I researched any Hilton hotel before booking as the 'expectation' of staying in a 5* Hilton hotel was certainly not met on this occasion.

The Emirates was at the other end of the scale for decor, luxury, service etc and the Hilton will need to make substantial improvements to its hotel and service offering if it is to compete in future!

Unfortunately our current stay at this Hilton is as bad as some 3* trips to North Africa that we experienced several years ago - but at 4 times the price.

If you are a business traveller then this hotel is acceptable. However, if you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday somewhere different then I cannot recommend it at all. The hotel is overpriced, generally very tired looking and nowhere near the 5* resort that it perceives itself to be.

We also had some issues with our online booking with Hilton, which were eventually overcome - inevitably through us having to pay extra. Our overall experience has left us regretting our selection and feeling that we've somehow been mislead.

I will now be far less trusting of the Hilton brand in future and will try to more fully research our hotel selections before booking.

Taxi from airport is fixed price - cost 70 dirham. The hotel is very nice there are two large pools (one for children) adult pool depth 1.9m. Has own private beach, gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and spa. There are 2 hammocks on beach and 4 round the pool. It is expensive for food & drink, 2 cans coke £6.50, 1 chicken fajita + 2 draught beers £21 in beach bar. Coffee + small can bud in hotel £9. Bice italian restaurant in hotel - 2 chicken breast stuffed with mozarella & 3 corona beers cost £63. All food & drink is subject to 10% tax plus 6% tourist tax. Just next to tennis courts is Hemingways where you can watch sport (6 tv screens, each one different sport/match). Easy walking distance to Emirates Palace and Marina Mall. Lots of building work but not too noisy. Taxis are cheap if you use silver ones - £1 to £3 into town. Taxi back to airport was 48 dirham. (Based on 5 dirham to £) Well worth a stay at his hotel in Abu Dhabi.
