My Wife and I spent 8 days in the Hotel to unwind in the sunshine.
The Suite we booked and the service was excellent, especially the highly attentive, friendly Staff in the Executive Club Lounge.
Within the Lounge we found no lack of Drinks and Nibbles at any time of the day.
In similar Lounges, in other Hotels, there is a limit on certain facilities but not in this Hotel - we never felt we were taking advantage of the generous offerings.
The Pool area was quite crowded at the start of the week but we found peace and quiet on the private beach area.
The Steakhouse (Forge) and Chinese (Li Jiang) Restaurants were of an exceptionally high standard, which we enjoyed on more than one occasion during the short stay.

Unfortunately I am only giving this hotel an average rating because the outdoor pool and beach area (which, when going on a sun holiday, is arguably the most important feature) provides no escape from noise and kids. The pool, albeit very large, was packed with screaming children - no chance of swimming lengths here or going for a relaxed dip to cool off. The pool is also full of inflatable lilos and toys, which really gives the place a tacky 'Butlins abroad' feel. There were even clowns around the pool one day (see picture)! The beach is the only option for some respite, but by the end of the day this too is packed with kids running around. Some days there was also tinny music blasting from the speakers at the pool, which could be heard very clearly from the beach. The kids club outdoor area is also in-between the pool and beach and so you can constantly hear kids screaming from here also. I was surprised how geared towards children the whole outdoor area was, with no peaceful area for adults - not what I would expect of a Ritz.

The positives of this hotel are that the property is beautiful and the club rooms are great. We were in an executive suite which was very spacious, clean and well appointed. Paul who cleaned our room did a fantastic job and was extremely polite. The club lounge is one of the best I have been in, with a fantastic offering of complimentary food, drinks and wifi. Jacob, who manages the lounge, is superb. The views at night are fantastic also, particularly from the lounge.

All in all, this place desperately needs an adult only pool/area for those travelling without kids looking for a restful break. Unfortunately, because of this I would not stay again.

Room Tip: Get a club room so you have access to the brilliant club lounge.

Wonderful few days with Jocopo and his amazing staff staying on the club level, very very attentive staff from morning until night in luxurious surroundings with excellent food and well-chosen beverages. Nothing too much trouble. Excellent room facilities - bed was so comfy it was hard to leave.....lovely large and quiet room, quietest AC I have ever encountered. Minor hiccup with the shower but this was very promptly resolved. Rooms overlook grounds and pool which is lit up every evening and changes colour. Dined at the Asian restaurant - excellent service and food and also at the all day dining facility as it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the balmy evening. A resort which will appeal to everyone however pool was very busy with a lot of small children since it was the Eid but this not the norm I understand. If I had to be truly picky I could have done with more space for toiletries in the bathroom (obviously designed by a man), space is very limited. Also it was a wise decision to cease the music at the pool. From the minute you walk through the door it is obvious that everyone's mission in life is to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. A great experience which I hope to repeat.

Room Tip: Stay on Club Level if you can - you will not regret it. Pool views are lovely at night when lights...

Stayed a few nights over this vacation period and must say had a blast. From the lobby to the restaurants the service was great and the food well above par. Special mention for the gym, pool and kids club, fantastic stars in there, Mazesh, the Manager Christian, and Tica in the kids club, my kids did not want to leave literally. The pool was very busy but the beach had lots of beds also. Shame no watersports on offer or spa, but overall one of our best stays in UAE.

WOW!!! This is truly an amazing place to stay. The hotel is simply fantastic. Located right accross the sublime Skaikh Zayed Mosque and the serene waters of the Grand Canal, the hotel is built like a Mediterranean Villa. The guest will be in awe of the majestic lobby with three massive chandeliers suspended from a high ceiling ,reminiscent of a Baroque Palace in Europe. The live Opera singer in lobby adds to that 'palace' feel! The Concierge and lobby staff is friendly and very attentive but needs to brush up on their English skills a little more. The rooms are well appointed and luxurious. The restaurants are wonderful. The Food and Beverage staff was amazing. The Restaurant Manger at breakfast was a class act. He was a true gentlemen and catered to our every need. The hostess and waitstaff were equally attentive and wonderful. The pool looks lovely at night. This is a truly amazing hotel and looks and feels like a Palace.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a balcony that looks out to the Grand Canal

We took the family for a 'weekend' break one night stay at the Ritz. The overall stay exceeded our expectations in every sense. The staff were exceptionally attentive, the food was amazing (even the dinner buffet was better than expected) and the pool amenities were fabulous...
Our two kids (6 and 3) had a blast at the really nice kids club - which suprisingly stays open till very late in the evening...
the room was very nice with a great view of the pool and the canal and the amenities in the room were excellent (although we didn't spend on the wifi for a 1-night stay)...
Having visited other resorts in Abu Dhabi for weekend getaways, this was by far the best of them all - it really felt like we left the country, even though we just drove down from Dubai...

I stayed at this hotel for my honeymoon, and the service was amazing. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating and we really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were decent size, and the hotel is right on the beach so access is very easy.
