“New and beautiful. Has room to mature and improve.”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

Had dinner with friends, 4 adults, 2 high schoolers. Service is almost too much, food is very good. The restaurant was not very busy yet they confused the plates and made a substitution without telling us. With a 30% discount, including wine, and mandatory service charges, my half of the tab was about 550 Dhs (~$150 USD). My rib eye steak was very delicious and my wife's fish was also excellent. I will go back since it was very good despite the issues with being so newly opened.

“Very Very Good”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

Had a set lunch here with a group of 15 and was very impressed. Upon entering the restaurant there is a clear vibe from the staff that they are very keen to serve. As the restaurant has just opened the stress was slightly visible on their side, but they did a very good job.

Now the food...I had the white tomato soup as a starter which was very good but not excellent. Perhaps it was because my company had been raving about this so much in advance. The way it was served and the presentation was, however, faultless.

As a main I had Cheese Macaroni (yes really)...and this was simply divine. For me a good chef is someone that can take a simple dish and make it really special. This was without question the best Macaroni I have ever tasted.

The only thing I can say about the desert is that it was impossible to choose from the three options offered...at the end we all ended up very content with our individual choices but slightly jealous of the others who had chosen the other one...

All in all a definite recommendation.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

Having been one of Gary Rhodes fans for a very long time it was so exciting to go to his latest restaurant. The decor is elegant but with a twist of modern art and fun colours. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had risotto with a generous helping of scallops, an Arabic goats cheese salad and parsnip and date soup as starters which are a fusion of English and Arabic flavours. Our mains of pork belly, rib eye steak and roast duck were all beautifully presented with delicate flavours. For desert we had the best ever rice pudding, typical of Gary's signature, a traditional dish with a modern twist, toffee sponge pudding, Baileys brûlée and lemon mouse. This was a real treat to have in Abu Dhabi. The city needs more high quality restaurants like this where the cuisine justifies the cost and rewards the diner with an exciting culinary experience.
