Booked a table here on our wedding anniversary. It was the Teppanyaki evening. Had a lovely table outside overlooking the Marina with rose petals on the table..lovely thought by the staff. The food was wonderful and every dish explained by our charming waiter.
After we had finished our meal all the lovel staff wished us Happy Anniversary and presented us with a scrumptious cake.
A must visit if you are in the Yas Island area

I have ordered sushi and chicken wings. The food was great. i give it 8/10.

I loved the room where you can sit on the floor and eat, it gives you a feeling that youre really in japan

I could eat sushi literally every day hence my excitement to try to this restaurant to see if it beats my all time Abu Dhabi favourite Sushi restaurant Toki (which I still have to review)

Kazu is located in the beautiful Yas Viceroy, hence expect elegance and a beautiful setting overlooking the Yas circuit. It is was early June but still ok to sit outside, so we had a nice table outdoor. While the food was of great quality (details below) none of the sushi options really wowed us. Given the price of the items I expected out of the ordinary selection of nigiri sushi (the sushi dinner for example was was a hefty 205 AED which came with 8 Salmon hosomaki and 6 regular nigiri sushi).
Kazu is a place to take someone out on a date to impress. The location is great, service is slightly above average, food is very good quality. But if you are craving for a mouth watering Sushi experience, you might be disappointed.

Below is the breakdown of the experience:

Likes:
Beautiful location
Very good quality of ingredients: the meat in the Teppanyaki surf and turn dinner was juicy, and exquisite
Food was cooked to perfection: the meat the vegetables as well as the tempura were crispy and flavoursome
The sushi rice was well prepared and tasty (a bad rice can definitely ruin your sushi experience)
Good selection of fish for sashimi and nigiri available on the menu. Too bad only the basic cuts such salmon, tuna, octopus without any unagi, ikura, toro...were included in the sushi dinner.

Dislikes:
Service was merely ok. The waiters were super nice and polite but they were not aware of what is available or not (they had to come back three times to either confirm an order or informing us that something we ordered was unavailable and they had to replace it with something else - was it wine or lobster....Furthermore, they were not very attentive to our needs. In a restaurant where the bill is over 1000 AED you expect to have your wine glass filled when necessary...but it was not the case
The most disappointing thing was the selection of sushi included in the Teppanyaki set menu and the sushi dinner. Usually, when a sushi set is available separately on the Carte, it includes some of the most popular but also some special selections of fish. The menu read: "Chef selection of 8 pieces nigiri sushi and 6 tuna rolls" so we trusted the Chef to wow us, but he did not (note that this was the only pre-designed mix of sushi on the menu)

Our bill for two:
Teppanyaki set menu (530 AED)
Sushi dinner (240 AED)
Water (36 AED)
Pinot Grigio (260)
Taxes and service (132.16 AED)
Entertainer Voucher (-240 AED)
Total: 958.16 AED

Loved the food, the teppanyaki chef trained by a Japanese chef was really good. Accommodating our preferences and putting up a great performance. Food quality was amazing and would highly recommend either the seafood or the meat lovers set. Although expensive, the entertainer vouchers worked well. Service was good even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Small improvements to be made would be the serving order, sometimes going by ladies first and other times at random order, and sometimes serving from the left, sometimes the right, didn't know which way to move or watch out for. Also saw a plate of sushi sitting near the heating lamp, luckily it wasn't ours! Overall an amazing experience, similar to what we remember in Japan. Oh and one more thing, can you remove the barrier at the teppanyaki table so we can watch the chef, without standing up or leaning over...thanks!

The place you must visit if you are raw fish lover. The food and service was superb but the price was very expensive (well, I think everything in Yas Island are expensive anyway). I can't remember the name of the food we had, we just asked recommendation from a lovely bartender and he ordered for us. Also try their signature sake.
