“Big!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2011

We decided to have our last three days at the Emirates Palace when we visited Abu Dhabi, so we could see what it was all about. We had booked a ordinary Coral Room. We came early to check in and since we were early the room was not ready. But a Khaleej Deluxe Suite was, so we got a incredible upgrade! Since this was our honeymoon trip we got a fantastic last few days in Abu Dhabi. The hotel is big, a lot of restaurants and shops ++. The pool area is great, and the hotel has the best beach in the area. But the hotel is so huge, so I agree with other reviews that it lacks a little bit of soul. But anyway, we had a fantastic stay!

I never got to have my second stay at the Emirates Palace although it had all been booked and confirmed. Overbooked. And I was not alone, judging by the stream of complimentary fruit baskets and chocolate trays heading into the hotel where I was sent on arrival, the Khalidiya Palace - which was unfortunately not what I was looking for. The Emirates Palace clearly knew pre-arrival that there was no room for me, and sadly didn't let me know. Very disappointing. Great service to try and make things right from the front desk staff, but hard to justify a booking here if you don't know that's where you will actually end up!

Ushered in side entrance, shown to ante room down stairs, food tasteless, tea and coffee cold ,service poor. Not a 'high tea' as far as British standards go. Would not recommend to anybody. Should have been highlight of cruise.

Disgruntled

Ungorgetable, uncomparable 7 star facilities and services being provided there at Emirates Palace Hotel. Looks really like palace. Special guide is there to provide you information as per your requirement to book room or suit. Gold Bar ATM is there which i have seen only in Emirates Palace Hotel in the middle east. Those who really want to experience 7 star and do not want compromise in quality service and is ready to spend money can undoubtedly stay over there. This palace hotel is for rich people specially Arab Sahikh / US citizen who doesn't count money for quality service. One can enjoy almost all facilities over there.

The Emirates Palace is a world-class hotel, a truly magnificant, blow-you-away sort of property you can wander around in, seeming more like a museum or, er, a palace, than a hotel. You may need a guide to prevent you from getting lost on your first sojourn from your rooms. The lazy river and waterslides are great for school-age kids. At least when we were there, the beach and pool areas (amazing) didn't suffer from the "more ice, sir" or "can I get you another drink" type of service that annoys guests who, like me, wanted to relax. It's fine to be left alone as long as a guest knows where to turn when service is needed, and this hotel understands that.

Dinner at the Emirati restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast buffet rivaled the Four Seasons for quality of food and variety. Great restaurants all around. Only breakfast complaint: for outdoor seating, management needs to get rid of the little birds that fly around and pick at the food from bussed plates. This is borderline disgusting even as it amuses the kids, and there are practical, low-impact ways to discourage the birds.

Rooms are fantastic, whether East Wing (adults) or West (mixed). Did I really need the 55-inch flat screen in a normal room, with DVD, or the private butler? Who cares what is needed--when you're on holiday, being at a place that either sets the standard or goes beyond any normal standard for rooms, service, facilities is always welcome.

A colleagues stayed in a suite this trip and we visited. The suites are, well, palatial and spare no expense. Really over-the-top luxorious.

Great property, great stay.

Despite its vast and impressive size, the Emirates Palace succeeded in making us feel special during a week's stay for rest and relaxation in winter sunshine. Especially noteworthy was the enthusiasm and help of the butlers' team in the arrangements to celebrate my wife's birthday.

We found the Hotel's choice of restaurants excellent and a high standard of water sports available to guests. Until you visit the Emirates Palace it's difficult to appreciate the grandeur of its design and lovely location, with a kilometre of private beach of pristine white sand. Expensive but worth the outlay for great surroundings and service provided you are prepared for a reasonable amount of walking within the Hotel.

This hotel is huge and soulless. It's got all the facilities you would ever want, but you won't feel "special". It's very expensive and supposedly exclusive, yet in the room there is a list of what the shampoo costs alongside a warning not to remove from the room!
It's a fun experience walking through palm tree lined passageways inside the hotel, past the gold bar dispenser to the waterslide pool area, but it's not excellent - just glossy and over-the-top.
