Rooms are very dated, I felt like I was walking into 1978 when we opened the door. Our queen bed was two mattresses pushed together which kept slipping apart. There was no heat and during their winter (Northern summer) we needed it! Rooms were relatively clean, with what appeared to be a little mold in the ceiling.
No room service or restaurants, so you are stuck unless you have a car. Pool was not open as it was 15 degrees out. Not much to do in Punta del Este in the winter. If the weather was warm and the beaches were open, I wouldn't have minded the lack-luster room as much.
Free Internet is sketchy at best. Lots of cable channels. Staff were nice, but not overly friendly. Breakfast - average.
If you are from Europe or North America, you might be disappointed. But far from the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Would I stay again? It wouldn't be my first choice, but I would if I didn't have a better option. It is close to the beach.More
