Description: Late is a very special place to know, in the heart of Punta del Este. The best choice of fusion cuisine, drinks, wines, and cuisine trend asiatic & peruvian. Best sushi and ceviches in town. A modern and unique atmosphere, located in parade 7, of Mansa beach, in between trees, and 4 blocks up the sea. A place where you can enjoy both things, food and place with friends, family or even alone next to the sushi bar. For those who don't know LATE, besides of having the best sushi open all year, the most interesting thing, is the story of how it started. It used to be owner's grandpa home, that's why it actually seems cozzy, it feels as eating at home. Then it started selling belgian artesanal chocolate, the very well known, Callebaut chocolate. And after 5 years of growing, it converted in what today it is, a resto with a different and tasty proposal. In winter capacity, is smaller, and we suggest to make reserves. We recommend to make a visit, and let the experience begin. You can Follow us on our social networks with Instagram: and Facebook too, as latepuntadeleste. Reservations at contact number.

“Great for lunch near Punta Shopping”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

While they do have chocolates, this is a great place to enjoy a light lunch, seated outside. The salads and sandwiches are excellent. This is also a good spot for a quick meal late at night during the summer.

“The Best Coffee and Chocolates in Punta del Este”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2013

We've been to Late Chocolates several times since it opened. I've had an excellent experience there every time. Their food is fun and inventive, their chocolates are equally unique, their coffee is always great, and they have really reasonable prices.

It's kind of hard to find a decent cup of coffee in Punta del Este let alone a bona fide mocha cafe. Late Chocolates makes the best. Their handmade chocolates are also fantastic. They're fresh and rich and are sometimes filled with flavors unique to Uruguay. I love giving a box of chocolates to friends as gifts on special occasions.

The owners are great people and they both speak English. The restaurant is in a converted house in a residential area, so it's quiet and lovely. It's great sitting out in the front yard when the weather is pleasant under the big shady trees.

I know some reviewers have commented on the slowness at Late Chocolates, but I have to say that they are making real food there. It's not something that can be quickly thrown together. It takes time to plate and serve dishes that are prepared from scratch. Any time you may spend waiting is time well rewarded when your order arrives.

I hope the owners and staff at Late Chocolates continue to be inventive and willing to try new things. That's what makes going there so fun.
