Nice big hostel with comfortable beds and a decent bar. Location is a little walk from the centre but not more than 10 minutes or so.

You get a free beer every night which is a bonus plus the breakfast of unlimited pancakes makes a nice change to the usual bread and jam you get at other places.

The reception however was very very slow and lacked a bit of organisation when more than one person turns up at a time. They also asked for payment upfront which is quite uncommon in most places.

Need some more plug sockets in the rooms and a few shelves/hooks wouldn't go amiss. But the toilets were clean and the showers were hot hot hot! Sometimes too hot in fact, which you can't really complain about being in freezing la Paz!

Overall. Good place to stay, quite social although not quite Loki party and they organise lots of events and can book your death road trip too (go with barracuda!).

We stayed in the hostel first time round then stayed in the B&B a few doors down on our return from the jungle as I was ill. The B&B is. nicer and quieter but that's what you pay extra for.
We were in an 8 bed dorm when we stayed in the hostel but it was empty other than the two of us on two of the nights. The rooms get very cold at night even with all the blankets they provide I still found I had to sleep fully clothed! The shared bathrooms could have done with being cleaned a bit more frequently but overall they were fine. The hot water was sometimes too hot which is odd for Bolivia!
Free pancakes are included for breakfast each day which makes a nice change to bread and jam.
The hostel organise events just as BBQ night to get people together. All guests get a free beer after 8pm each night which is a bonus!

We heard rather good feedback about this hostel, so chose to book 2 nights there.
We arrived early so left our bags at the "depositorio" with the security guard - I left the luggage room for 10 seconds and came back, to find the guard going through my bag.....!!!! I got upset, and he just replied that my bag was open (500% sure it was not) and that he was closing it.
I complained to the front desk (in my very poor Spanish), and he didn't seem to care too much.
So we decided to leave for another hostel, which the receptionist understood and apologized for.

We did not see much of the hostel so cannot comment about that. Just don't leave your valuables in your bags if you stay...

Sorry About your Problem, to find out what happen with that Staff at the storage we need to know if you where at the B&B or the Big Hostel. Its a Pity you didnt ask for the Manager to solve this issue, with the person involved. We know our staff very well and will found out if something went wrong to make sure this person is either warned or expelled from our company if he cannot explain his actions.

cheers

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions during our time in La Paz. This was a great base for us with comfy beds, warm showers and sociable atmosphere - we particularly liked the free beer. The hostel is quite cold though so wrap
up warm or hire a hot water bottle or heater!

We stayed here off and on during our month long expedition in Bolivia. We were a 17 strong school party, 14 students and 3 staff. All in all it was an ok experience. Some of the students complained of bed bug bites but the staff were all pretty happy with the accommodation. The free breakfast consists of tea, coffee and as many pancakes as you can eat. Topping for these include jam, butter and a toffee spread. To be honest, after a week of pancakes I was sick of them. Adventure Brew also sell breakfasts like fruit bowls, scrambled eggs etc. These are reasonably priced. The hostel itself is split into 2 buildings. Our time was mainly spent in the one down the hill. This is quieter. On our last night the students spent the night in the other building and the other guests were partying most of the night in the bar. They didn't get any sleep.

Location wise the hostel is handy for the city centre. The bus station is a 10 minute walk away. Main shops are about the same. Airport is 20 mins in a taxi - depending on time of travel.

WiFi in both buildings is good. Probably the best WiFi we had in the whole of the country. There's also desktop PCs available for guests to use free of charge.

They advertise free beer for guests - one bottle a day I think. The place is run by a brewery.

Rooms vary in size. There are few single rooms, triple rooms and big dorms. Not all rooms have keys for guests and reception need to open the doors for you.

Laundry service is available for a fee.

Showers in the rooms we stayed in were hit and miss. Those showers were you get the temperature perfect for about 20 seconds then spend the next minute dancing about like a dafty re-adjusting when it gets scalding hot of baltic.

Overall, a decent place to stay. If I ever return to Bolivia (which will be never) I'd try somewhere else just for a change.

There are two hostels under this name ( around 10 metres between them); initially I had the reservation in the " noisy" location ,after one day I moved to the other hostel which was very good . I stayed in a 4 bed dorm ( 80 Bo per night), clean, quiet, decent breakfast( pancakes , gem, coffee and tea ), friendly staff , good location (near the bus terminal and market) and excellent email communication. For solo women travellers: be extra careful during your visit ( including walking during the day). It is helpful to take a free city tour which offers more details about the city and how tourists have to interact with Bolivians.

We stayed in this big, clean hostel a few years back, but it was a great place to be! As part of a month long expedition, we stayed here for 4 nights. 15 of us shared a large room with bunk beds. The hostel's brewery function is niche and is definitely worth a stay.
Really well situated with safe (we found) rooms and good drinks! I remember the city view from the outdoor area being absolutely beautiful. Memorable.
