I was in Bogota for 12 days and I stayed in this hotel and it was centrally located to where you in a few minutes could walk to a mall and find everything and within 10 minutes in a taxi you could be at Clinica de Marly.

I recommend it to anyone who want to go to Bogota for a medical check up or vacation.

You could also visit Cathedral de Sal and Cerro Monserrate with a taxi.

So when we researched hotels in Bogota, we were looking for one in champinero - which was the area recommended by our friends and colleagues. The hotel advertised it's location as being there on booking.com but of course wasn't in the area but rather at least a 20 min walk from the neighborhood. The hotel was supposedly 'oversold' so they cramped us in a tiny room with 3 beds and barely any walking space. The pictures of the rooms are nothing like what we walked into when we arrived! Worse still the safe in the room didn't work and they provided no assistance to make it any better or fix the problem. The shower floor was filthy and the shower mat was molded. The cup in the bathroom, while wrapped in plastic was covered in some disgusting orange film and stayed that way all 4 days we were there. There was also a large window in our room with curtains and everything which opened to the hallway - there was an instance when a person was sanding out side if it which made a very uncomfortable - essentially we didn't really feel safe. That's not even the worse part - every morning at 6am there was construction and since the walls were paper thin, you couldn't help but be awoken by any noises (loud voices and construction). They didn't warn us of this construction or offer anything to make up for the terrible inconvenience. The people at this hotel chose when they understood our English or attempts at Spanish and when they didn't - usually when it wasn't suitable for them. The first night we arrived seemed like they understood us and could communicate with us fine but literally as soon as we asked for a room with a safe and were communicating any frustration, the English skills vanished. The breakfast was a little below average. The hotel offered very little to praise or be excited about so I close my review by saying, if you want a nice experience in Bogota, you should probably stay at a global or US branded hotel in the financial district.

The best thing about this hotel was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful. The breakfast wasn't too bad.

The downsides.
- there was no usable safe in the room. We asked the front desk and the man just shrugged and laughed. There was a safe but we had no key. Not quite a laughing matter.
- the bathroom sucked. The bathroom had a window to the hallway. It wasn't the cleanest. We also didn't get new towels until we asked for them.
- they stuffed three beds into a space that was big enough for 1.5 people. With three people and their suitcases, this was impossible.
- the hotel was loud! There was construction at 6am every morning. Then it would stop at 9. No warning from the staff. Because it happened right near my room, I felt the vibrations every morning!

This place was 2 star quality.

Stayed 5 days.

Basic but clean rooms.

Close to shops and shopping centre 200m away.

Good access to points of interest (taxi to Candelaria is 9000 pesos).

Rooms at the back have less road noise.

Friday and Saturday night can be a bit noisy but ok.

Breakfast is simple but nice.

Staff is very helpful.

Would stay again.

This is my third stay at this hotel it is a reasonably priced hotel for overnight stays and short visits. The rooms are clean if on the frugal side, Breakfast is available and service is good. The hotel is situated close to the football ground and has many shops within walking distance including a McDonald s and Crepes and Waffles I would recommend a meal at the later or at Elportoncolonial.
Staff are helpful but English not widely spoken.

Room Tip: Make sure you dont have a room overlooking the Police Station

Service was fantastic, staff is very well trained and customer service oriented. Spotless clean in every corner. Location is perfect considering the traffic in Bogota. Will always come back!

Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Maichel... Yes, the owners also call it home AND live there! This even makes it better! Always present and ensuring that all is top knotch!!

Hope to see you guys soon.

Very convenient location in the city, but what I like the most was the warm service and beautifull decoration, it's completely worthit for a good price... I truly recommended.
I travel with my family and we had a great time, my kids loved the delicious food.
