comfortable rooms although on the small side. Very clean, good breakfast and coffee/ tea always available. A Safe available in room.
TIP: Have hotel call yellow taxi for you, much cheaper (although not as nice) as hotel taxis.
Downsides: only 1 English Channel on TV and they call themselves an "Eco" hotel but they still replaced the soaps and shampoos daily?!!

Stayed: March 2014, travelled as a couple

Thank you very much for your comments. Probably something happened during your stay with our TV system because we offer a great variety of english channels. We will also check our rooms procedures because we also don´t change our amenities daily. We hope to have you back soon at B3.

This hotel is very well located close to zona Rosa. For the first visit to Bogota, the B3 is in a perfect location!
We came to celebrate the birthday of a friend who lived in Bogota and knows the best places to stay in the city. Although on the city map it looks pretty far from the downtown "Candelaria", in my opinion this is not a bad thing. Candelaria and surrounding areas are great to visit during the day, but I believe is not the best place for nightlife. The neighborhood surrounding the B3 is very clean, safe, and high-class. There is a nice park a few steps from the hotel, and a few blocks (10 -15 minutes-walk) south you will find restaurants, bars, and shopping district (Zona Rosa/Zona T). It was refreshing after a day of sight-seeing to come back to this neighborhood. Although we did not use it, Just a short walk through the park will take you to a Transmilenio stop, from there you can take buses that will take you anywhere in the city, or you can take taxis (very small cars) at very reasonable prices.
As for the hotel: the staff was very friendly and professional. I read with surprise ,some reviewers complaining about the breakfast (there are people born to complain), The daily breakfast buffet offered a nice varied selection, way more than one normally eat at home. Various breads, rolls and pastries, cheese, cereal, arepas, tamales, sausage links, rice (a special typical “calentao” rice), several water based or milk based fruit juices and Milk, and they will even make eggs to order.
We stayed in a junior suite with a king size bed; the room had an average size. Storage was minimal, and there was only one chair to sit in. There is no AC; please note, no AC. Not that you need it with the amazing weather in Bogota, only crack the window open, however, if you have a room facing the front (Carrera 15) it might be a bit noisy. Ask for a room facing the mountains (in the back) and on a higher floor, and you’ll be fine. The bathroom was clean, as it was the room. Comfortable bed with Beautiful and minimalistic décor, (no carpet which is always a plus). If you are not looking for a pool, a full size gym, this is the perfect hotel. You should know that before booking and not complain about it. On Sunday, Carrera 15 is closed to vehicular traffic until 4pm or so, and you can walk, jog, bike or just sit and enjoy seeing people going by…..that was a great experience.
The lobby is inviting, comfortable and chick. The great location, the great price and the good service far outweigh any shortcomings this hotel might have in terms of amenities.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor towards the back for a quieter night. Open your window and enjoy. The view of the mountains is great.

This hotel is primarily a business hotel. It is very well designed, everything works. The rooms are attractive and there is everything you need, including efficient room safes. In the lobby there are rows of connections for lap-tops. The bar/snack restaurant is efficient, too. However, the rooms and the bathrooms are very small. There is hardly any storage space so it is not a tourist hotel, really.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms facing the main road, at the front.

The Hotel B3 Virrey is a friendly and well-located boutique hotel, but it is unfortunately marred by several design flaws. That said, its low prices make it good value for money.

+ The staff were friendly and often went out of their way to help.
- E.g., when my wife was sick one morning the staff put together a special (and complimentary) breakfast for her even though the breakfast period was already over.
- If your Spanish is as awful as mine, the front desk staff speak good English and are happy to coordinate your requests within the hotel and externally.

+ The hotel is well-located on
Carrera 15 near Calle 88/89, next to Virrey Park.
- This was a very green and safe-feeling neighborhood, close to several good parks and restaurants including Cafe Gaira, Andres Carne, and Crepes & Waffles. Special note: the latter, part of a national chain, is hands-down the best group of restaurants in Colombia. We went four times in as many days and would've gone more times if we could. Our local friends go to Crepes & Waffles every chance they get, and you owe it to yourself to go at least once.

+ The rooms are comfortable but it's hard to get a good night's sleep.
- Our room felt very large and we had no trouble keeping our many pieces of luggage out of the way. We noticed there are a variety of room sizes, e.g. the room next to ours was equivalent in size to a single in a typical hostel. The bed was also very large and comfortable, with great linens. The ceiling-mounted shower was always hot and relaxing.
- Despite the comfy bed, we never got a great night's sleep in our room however. This was chiefly due to the noise from the street (Carrera 15) and the active construction site directly opposite Hotel B3. Oddly enough we noticed that the noise insulation in the first floor lounge area was better than in our room, leading us to suspect somebody cheaped out on window quality during the hotel's renovation. Another factor limiting our sleep was the room's temperature which we couldn't control. I noticed in several other places around Colombia that the default thermostat setting is 24C (75F) and I assume it was the same at B3.
- Another small annoyance was the constant resetting of the wifi, which required password reloading every 15-20 minutes.

+ The amenities are limited and not very valuable.
- The gym is a joke, about 100 sq ft (9 sq m) and far too crowded with equipment to easily move around, especially if others are in there too. The one TV can only be properly seen from one machine. When we went the water cooler was empty and the towels hadn't been replaced, and frustratingly, two different staff members who came by failed to follow through on their pledges to fix the situation when it was politely pointed out to them.
- The downstairs bar and breakfast area was stylish and comfortable, and a DJ spun there in the evenings.
- There is no pool.

We appreciate and value your comments. We work very hard every day to make happy our visitors. As you say the hotel its very well located with access to most of the best restaurants, bars, parks and attractions in Bogota. Regarding the problem you had with the noise in your room we are going to check the room you stayed as we have one of the best noise reduction systems available in the market. Hope to see you in the near future again with us and also you will have the opportunity to visit again Creppes and Waffles.
