This newly re-opened soup oso on a different location is pleasant and laid back. Service is good and friendly and you can always ask for a different arrangement. If it rains you probably won't be sitting in their cozy garden but the soups are quite nice. Also had a delicious salad, dressing was too little but you could just ask for more.

One of the few places in Suriname that strives to create a nice atmosphere. With nicely painted walls, a variety of art and stylish furniture this restaurant has a homey/hipster/cafe experience. On top of that they have affordable fresh and tasty soups (strongly inspired by the Surinamese cuisine). In Surinamese terms, a unique place to be.

I went with a friend to Souposo. It's near the Palmentuin. The restaurant isn't big even with the courtyard. It's a really pretty and nice place. You can feel that the owner's doesn't just run this place but that they like it. There aren't ugly plastic chairs but nice wooden chairs and everything is really colourfull in a modern way. Seems perfect for Paramaribo.

The services was excellent. I have never seen something like that before. The waitress sit down and explained us for 5 Minutes the menu. We had a good laugh with her. Than they served the drinks and put the bottles into the fridge so that they could stay cold. They served you again the drinks without your questioning when they saw your glass gets empty.

The food was awesome. I had a really delicious porc that propably was fallen apart because it was so tender with sauerkraut and potatoes (sweet and normal). My friend had a peanutsoup with homemade bread, tasty the same way.

In sum, we had an entrance, a main course, a dessert, drinks, coffee and an after dinner liqueur for each 15 Euros.

If I find the time to get a second time to Paramaribo, I know where I will eat ;). So enjoy your stay there! I can only highly recommending it.
