Huge 45 square metre room with large balcony affording pool and lagoon views. The ensuite has a huge round bath to soak in which was lovely. This room was perfect for four of us - 2 adults and 2 children. Great location at a great value price. Would stay here again. Thank you to the wonderful staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: The higher floors have great views of the lagoon

I do not write often reviews, but I was staying at the Park, in Noumea and frankly I felt I had made the biggest mistake to stay there. Most staff are not particularly caring and thoughtful. The rooms are spacious but so dated and so old without any thought of aesthetic eye pleasing. Functional, yes but basic, boring, almost unpleasant to stay in. The bathroom feature a large round bath come shower which is then closed in by a sheer curtain that does not quite make it to the base of the bath. Have a shower, and after wasting 10 minutes of running water before it gets warm, the floor is saturated. The lighting in the bathroom is average and the bathroom curtain at the window giving view to the bedroom is an horror. The black out curtain may as well not be there as they are thin and leave the light in first thing in the morning. The musky smell, almost mouldy is probably related to the carpet in the room, which could be alleviated with chemical and vacuuming. I asked or call 3 times to have my room serviced by housekeeping and at 4pm, it was still not done. One front office staff at check in was really nice, professional and friendly, the rest of them for the duration of my stay always looked stressed, sour and ensure of what to do next. Room Service does not operate all day and my dinner tray stayed with me for 20 hours. This hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade, external paint and facial uplift as well as refurbishment of their rooms, proper staff training in customer services and thorough review of their procedures to deliver the expected basic services.

Room Tip: Top floor room have a better view, but so have other tall hotels in Noumea.

I have stayed twice at this hotel in the last 2 years. I stayed here with my husband in July 2011, in anticipation that another teacher & I would be bringing a school group here in April 2012, staying our 1st & last night at Le Pacifique with 20 girls. My husband & I found the hotel to be perfectly fine - no problems with cleanliness, smell, room facilities. We had a rental car which we were able to park in their carpark but we did go out & explore, ourselves, around the city & area, not relying on tourist activities being provided. We did find the window between the bathroom & bedroom a bit odd but there was a blind I think. The staff seemed to be quite friendly, on both trips. We did not eat at any of their restaurants - there are plenty of choices nearby or within a short walk towards Baie des Citrons. The only problem we had was with sending emails/getting onto the internet on their computers in the lobby. By the time we had worked out what to do/.got used to the French keyboard, the time was used up! So we found the hotel was fine - not luxurious but adequate for our needs & good value without being too expensive. To us, a hotel is somewhere to sleep & you need to go out to explore a place so we do not worry about the amenities so much

Room Tip: The higher the room, the less noise from the pool/road & the better the view.

My wife and I had a 10-day stayover in New Caledonia this month. Le Parc Hotel with a 3-star rating, delivered a 5-star service. Spacious rooms with a good view, friendly and helpful staff, and a very convenient location at Anse Vata beach, were big plusses. The pool area shared by the 3 hotels in the complex was a delight. A minor problem was that the room safe instructions didn't work for the safe, and that the huge bath/shower unit was high-risk slippery (my wife had a big fall on one occasion). The restaurant really delivered the goods for the Sat & Sun Japanese sushi buffet and for the wonderful Tahitian dancing show on Friday, but was otherwise deserted in view of significantly overpriced meal service.

Room Tip: The higher the better. Floor # 7 if you can!

Disappointing stay. Room was spacious - has heaps of potential, but generally most staff don't seem to care about paying customers and their attitude suggests they in fact consider guests a nuisance.

The front desk staff bar a couple of guys seem to be extremely ineperienced/clueless about what they are doing. There is a distinct lack of interest in helping customers.

The room we had was full of ants, it was on an upper level. The bathroom was in a state of disrepair. The room cleaning, if one can call it that was inconsistent.

I don't generally leave less than 3 stars unless a hotel is really unacceptable value or get most things wrong. Le Parc falls into both categories - am not sure how they can call this a 4-star establishment. Note there is a common reception and pool facilities with the lower rated Le Pacificque and Nouvata which are in the same complex (I can only imagine what they are like). The pool is not only shared with Le Pacifique and Nouvata, but it also used for classes from non-hotel guests. We also saw people parking outside the hotel near the beach, come and use the pool and then leave. Not ideal for you if you are a paying hotel guest.

Our room supposedly included free wireless internet, however there was no signal and we had to go into the foyer to connect to the wireless. On several days, the hotel had run out of pool towels early in the morning. The room air conditioner leaked water when in use. One day when we bought some pastries from a local bakery to eat in the room, they were covered in ants within 10 minutes of being left on the desk.

On the positive side, the hotel is well located in Anse Vata, Also, as mentioned, the rooms are spacious nad the higher levels have great views of the water and sunset, but that's where it stops. I always judge a hotel by whether I would come back based on the value and experience and for Le Parc, this is a resounding, "NO". I'd only consider coming back if I was paying 60% of what I did (and it included breakfast), they fully trained their front desk and room cleaning staff and the rooms were modernized. Somehow, I don't think this will be anytime soon.....

Room Tip: If you do decide to stay here, choose a room on a higher level for better views.

I try not to be critical of hotels, but the smell in our room prompts me to write this. The problem is with having carpet in a tropical location - it doesn't work and creates a smelly and unpleasant environment. I will never understand why they don't use timber or tiles on floors in those climates. We had a ''suite'' which was large and not much else and in this case, the ''house-window'' effect between the bathroom and bedroom was so kitch and unappealing, it would be a million times more attractive if they just simply bricked it up. The staff was not overly friendly and the overall stay was very ordinary - so much so that we forfeited our pre-paid stay of the final night of our trip. Not a great recommendation I'm afraid.

This is our second visit to this hotel. Having read the reviews I was a bit worried about what to expect. I thought by the sound of some of the reviews that it had gone down hill but I need not have worried. There are some issues that need attention but on the whole it was still the same as two years ago.
The room was still the same although a little care worn but never the less clean and welcoming.
The bathroom is huge and the only complaint in this regard is that the shower tends to become a little slippery.
On the whole the hotel is a good place to stay in terms of location (opposite the beach with bus stop at the door) however it could be improved.
This is not a cheap place to stay and they could throw breakfast in. We only saw a few people use the breakfast facility and can only conclude that like us, everyone went down to the local cafe for a quater of the price.
The dinner menu is overpriced and once again we saw very few people in the restraurant at night.
Generally housekeeping was very good but we saw the same tray of food left outside someones room for two days. We also saw food left in the area near the lift on our floor for a few days. Why this was not removed I don't know because the ladies who did the rooms were very efficiant.
You need to stay on the 5th floor for a view of the beach.
Someone commented on the number of unruley teenagers in the pool on new years day. I wouldn't say unruley but I was concerned that there were no adults at all supervising these kids and some were very young indeed. Its all very well having a sign saying that the pool is not supervised but a staff member could have gone out and calmed things down a little.
We spent some nice time by the pool and wonder why there is no pool side service. Most large hotels offer this and it really would be nice to have a cold drink down there. There used to also be a bar near the pool area but this has dissapered and seemed to have been given over for childrens birthday parties. Nice idea but for guests who enjoyed a drink in the afternoon it is not so comfortable now.
The new bar at the front of the hotel is not too bad but as usual overpriced.
We will go back as overall the hotel is nice but we also noticed that it did not seem to have many guests and we wonder if this is a price thing.
Tip to management: Include breakfast in your price and have poolside service.
Must say that we found the staff on the reception area always pleasant and helpful and encouraging of our tentative french.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the 5th floor to see the beach and islands opposite. Also ask for two cards for the...
