A very nice place. Best value in Tonga! Clean rooms with a nice kitchen and livingroom with giant TV and couches, nice place for relaxation after long travels:() very nice staff, friendly and helpfull by all means. Tonis Island tour is fantastic, amusing and a lot of cool things to see, absolutely recommendable. Great place.

Not fancy, not luxurious, relaxed and nice - quite like the Tongan way.

Although Tony is a bit rough on their staff, they were friendly and available.
We stayed in the blue house. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed it.

Not too close to Nukualofa's city centre, but the island buses will take you there quickly, and likely you'll score a hitchhike on the way too!

Room Tip: Try and stay away from the Green house. I didn't stay there, but from the looks of it and from w...

My husband and I stayed at Toni's for a total of 5 nights split over 2 trips. We found the room very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen and large sitting room with TV. There isn't a huge amount to do in the evenings in Tongatapu so we appreciated having a place to relax. I would recommend Toni's island tour, he really knows his stuff and is quite a character. There are roosters everywhere on the island that you will hear at all hours of the day, so I would not class this as a complaint as I have seen from others on here, its just part of island life. Mone was also great in taking us to and from the airport and helping us organise accommodation for our next stop in Tonga.

Our holiday in Tonga was amazing! The people are fantastic, this guest house was clean, big, and full of nice people! Our room was with a real king size bed =) It was giant. The staff was always helpful. They are always available to help us also with the transfer! We really want to come back! =)
P.s.: no geckos in the room! =)

Room Tip: We were in the Blue House and the rooms were all amazing, maybe the rooms upstairs are more quiet

Toni's Guest house is a great place to stay. Tony and very accommodating family offered great hospitality and often went the extra mile to explain the history and local colour of the Tongan culture. Toni is one of Tonga's great personalities. The rooms were clean and tidy.

We stayed 1 night at Toni's before our flight back to New Zealand. We paid $40 TOP ($30 NZD?) for a double which was about half the cost of any other options on Tongatapu.
I have to say I regret making the decision to stay at Toni's. We weren't able to get any sleep the one night we stayed there due to a loud Korean guy yelling on his phone outside our room at 3 am and roosters crowing at all hours. The place was manky and there was a cockroach on the floor of our room when we arrived.
The worst part is that we had planned to go into town to do some shopping before our flight, however when we tried to check out all of the hotel staff had mysteriously disappeared. After waiting over an hour for some one to return so we could pay our bill and check out, we didn't have enough time to do any shopping but had to go straight to the airport, and thus I wasn't able to buy a Tongan nose flute and some other locally made items I really wanted to bring back. I had advised one of the staff the night before of our intended departure time the following morning, and was told it would not be a problem. For these reasons I really regret making the decision to stay to Toni's.
Toni however does have a great deal of knowledge about the culture and people, and as I mentioned about, it's less than half the price of other options for those on a budget. It also has cooking facilities which cuts down on expenses as well.

We have stayed at Toni's twice now, once four years ago as a couple and recently with the whole family (8 of us). Both experiences were really good. We stayed the first time in the blue house and recently in the two family houses. Both times we were impressed with how clean and well presented the rooms were. The family houses have a kitchen and washing machine which was a bonus. Toni is great, such a character - we loved his dry sense of humour, and interesting anecdotes of the day, and he was always, always on time for pick ups etc. Nothing is a problem, so long as you keep him informed. Moni was good value too - he was very helpful. The boys did the kava night with him which they said was very good and informative. We have done Toni's island tour and trip to the Oholei beach dinner & show (twice now) and again excellent! I was very pleased to show the rest of the family there. $5 breakfasts can be ordered the from Toni the night before and are very good value and very well presented, helpful when on Sunday no shops are open except the odd bakery. We took bikes to Tonga, and when we rode the short distance from the family houses to the main road, there would often be what we call "the dog run" i.e. local dogs barking and chasing you. Slightly scary but quite fun, my husband says. We learnt you had to "SSSHHH" at them to quieten them as the locals do. We also had lunch at the beach house (again very clean) and I fell in love with the cute beach out the front of it. The food was okay - they forgot the eggs on my ceasar salad but Leni was quick to fry some up.
