While on holiday in Port Vila in March we twice went to Harbourview Restaurant. We were well looked after by the staff. The food was excellent. In particular we enjoyed teh hot and sour soup, the dim sum dumplings and the chilli beef. On our second visit the Peking Duck was superb. We would be happy to return if we go back to Vanuatu.

Best Chinese in Vanuatu. Best view.
The food is very reasonably priced, very cheap compared to Chinese in Australia.
The beef in black bean & lobster with ginger are both must tries!
They also do takeaway for those times when you have had a massive day and don't want to eat out.

Lovely view of the harbour while you eat. The food was lovely and thoroughly enjoyed the coconut crab. The staff were lovely.

I have eaten Chinese food all round the world including around China. The menu at the Harbour View is limited and uninspiring. All vegetables appear to be frozen non-Asian. No Asian vegetables, such as kang kong, bok choy, chinese cabbage etc, are on the menu and yet some are always available at the local market. Broccoli with garlic was European broccoli. One can get more tasty meals and a better range of meals at an Asian outlet at a shopping mall food court.

The service is average. We asked for some chilli and soy sauce together with small dishes so we could individually mix our chilli and soy. We were given one bowl of chilli in soy and were told that is all they give.

Prices are expensive for the Pacific.

The food wasn't bad but it isn't worth the price. Oh, and the beer wasn't cold. One good thing, all the dishes didn't come out together.

Overall, if you are happy with bog-standard Chinese stir-fry of consistent quality with a good view whilst you eat then you'll be happy with the Harbour View.

I wasn't impressed the first time I went there in 2005. I have been there a couple of times lately and finally had a chance to sit on their balcony, which has a great view. I am quickly learning what I like on their extensive menu. The food is not very spicy, but it is good quality stuff in good portions. The thing that really impressed me on our last trip was that the three of us (including our toddler) ate for less than 3000 vatu and went away full. That is pretty outstanding in Port Vila.
