We had lunch at Ripples followed by a lazy afternoon on deckchairs by the ocean. It's a small, out-of-the-way place and for much of the time we were there we had the place to ourselves.
The food was expensive but worth it - some of the juiciest meat I've ever had in my life. Curries are the specialty here; for other foods the menu is limited. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing attentive service when we needed it but allowing us to relax undisturbed the rest of the time.
The tidal pool below the restaurant would be hard to swim in at low tide without treading on the marine life, but simply picking our way around the pool peering into the sandy blue water (wear reef shoes and take care not to tread on live coral) was one of the highlights of our trip. There was a beautiful assortment of tiny iridescent fish, clams, sea cucumbers, starfish and other curiosities.
