“Very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

This newly renovated resort has much to offer... whether it's for a quick get-away or a week long stay. The staff are friendly and helpful; the food excellent. The peaceful lagoon is great for kayaking or sailing. Better to avoid the peak season of March to Oct. We're here in the rainy season with minimal disruption - it rains overnight & sometimes light showers during the day. With low occupancy, we're enjoying having the place to ourselves.

Good Afternoon MazV

Thank you for the review and we are very lucky to have the tidal lagoon right at the doorstep allowing the safe use of all the water activities. February is the one of the quietest months of the year here in Vanuatu which allows many of the guests to feel they are on their own both at the resorts but also out on the fantastic tours on offer.

Look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Stayed her for 8 nights at the end of January.
Arranged an upgrade directly with the hotel and stayed in a Family Bungalow over on the opposite side of the resort.
Very well fitted out room and perfect for a small family.
Would recommend these rooms but it is a bit of a walk back to the resort side - in saying that staff were always happy to collect you and drop off with a quick phone call.
Check in was smooth and friendly and available resort facilities were well explained.
Breakfast was lovely - plentiful and fresh.
Wood fired pizzas by the pool were delicious and happy hour was well received !! Great change of daily cocktail specials were a treat.
Room was serviced well each day and done so at a time that was never intrusive.
Taxis at resort are contracted to resort so there are set charges to go to certain attractions on the island - great idea cause you know you're not being ripped off.
Was lovely to see management staff out and about at the resort - even clearing breakfast dishes ! Also nice to meet the management team at the managers drinks on Tuesday arvo if you are a member !
Staff everywhere around the resort were super friendly and very willing to help with any of your needs.
Overall a lovely resort which is well maintained, very relaxing and with fantastic staff.
One point, make sure you're well balanced when you lay on the hammocks - one 360 degree spin off left me sore and sorry haha.

Room Tip: Overwater family bungalows worth the extra

Thank you for your "great' review!

Sounds like you had a great time except for the little Hammock incident. We recently shared a photo of a hammock on our facebook page and a few other people have shared some stories around the art of hammock use.

Look forward to welcoming you back to conquer the hammock in the near future.

My partner and I came here for our anniversary. And compared to other resorts in Vanuatu I picked the right one.
We only got a normal room and it was clean and had air-conditioning, it was all we needed as most of the time we were by the pool.
They have 2 pools plus a kid’s pool. And you could take the sailing boat and go kayaking without having to pay an extra fee. They have activities throughout the day like beach soccer or volleyball.
Breakfast was a yummy buffet and I did eat most lunches at the beach bar. Dinners we went out most nights but the casino is a lot of fun.
It might be more of a family resort but we went at the right time when kids from Australia have gone back to school. We stayed 7 nights but it wasn’t long enough!!
If I went back I would stay at the same resort.

Room Tip: Rooms looking over the golf course are nice and peaceful

Thank you for sharing a special occasion with us.

It certainly is one of the benefits of the destination to have a great selection of dining options around Port Vila and is a majour difference to some of the other Pacific destinations.

Look forward to welcoming you back for your next celebration.

Fantastic place to stay. This a great resort fantastic facilities and great grounds. You could just stay at the resort and have a great holiday. But don't Vanuatu has a lot to offer.
Staff are amazing very friendly and helpful. We dined at the resort every night for a week at the pool bar and enjoyed every meal. Salt and Pepper Prawns and Salmon Pizza recommended. Kids are definitely catered for here. We had a package with breakfast encluded which was a great way to start the day and the buffet had a great range. The resort provides towels to take out on excursions and use at pools etc.. which is great sign them out and return for dry ones when wet.
Kids dined free with a paying adult which is a good offer, had to ask for bill to be changed 3 times as the kids meal had been charged, maybe a better system is needed. Also on check out we had been charged for breakfasts which was part of our package. These are minor things and did nt affect our holiday majorly as the errors were correctly promptly and with no fuss. We had to leave at 5am for airport and the resort put out a small breakfast selection to eat while waiting for transfer in reception this was much appreciated only thing missing was some water for the kids. Well done Holiday in Vanuatu.

Good Morning Nakischofields

Thank you for the review.

The wood fired Pizza Oven down at the pool Bar has added just something a little different to the dining experiences and the team continue to experiment with different menu items. Sorry to here about your account and I have discussed it with the team to ensure we give them some refresher training around this.

Look forward to welcoming you all back to Vanuatu in the near future.

Enjoyed 9 nights here early January 2014 with our 4 year old son. It's a great place to holiday with kids being just a short drive from the airport. Staff friendly, rooms comfortable (if a little dated) and pool, lagoon and activities all great. Food was fantastic. Spa treatments lovely. Hope to be back in 2015.

Thank you for the 'great' review.

Sounds like you had a great time and enjoyed the Melanesian way of life. With the island only approx 140km by road around everything is nice and close including the airport!

Look forward to seeing you again in 2015!

Stayed for a week flying home on Australia Day. Overall a good family holiday in a well run hotel. Kids club worked really well for us with a six year old daughter. Pool facilities were good and the 4 to 6 happy hour was a pretty laid back affair. Our local Taxi driver working from the resort was Tony who was new to the role and a real gentleman. Kimberley from the management team give us some great local advice on restaurants and tours. Particularly enjoyed the fire dancing on the Thursday night and the local groups in the lobby bar. We looked at rooms to upgrade to but ours was actually well placed just around the corner from the kids club and near to the lobby bar and pools. There's some pretty good local supermarkets to stock up your frudge with snacks and drinks including a large supermarket quite close to the Holiday Inn resort. I reckon 7 to 9 days just about covers Vanuatu off though perhaps a little longer if you were into scuba diving and game fishing. Anyway thanks for a very good family holiday.

Room Tip: go for room 251 if you have one child

Thank you for your review.

As you found getting out and about is quite easy in Vanuatu and the resort taxi drivers can be part of the fun. Tony is the son of our Chief engineer who has worked for us since 1980!

Don't forget Vanuatu has over 83 islands to explore including Tanna Island which has one of the most active Volcano's in the world.

Hope to see you back in Vanuatu in the future.

We stayed at Holiday Inn between 18th Jan 2014 and 22nd Jan 2014. We stayed with our 7 months old Son. The stay was very relaxing and pleasant. The staff was excellent and very friendly. They were very caring with my kid. The place itself was very safe and the resort was self sufficient with everything. We really enjoyed time in the pool as well. The resort has a very good Child Care which had kids program every day.

However, there are few suggestions from my side:
1. When I booked the resort online (using my IHG reward points), I sent an email to confirm whether complimentary breakfast will be provided or not. I never got the reply though.
1. Since we are vegetarians, the only suggestion would be to have some vegetarian food in the buffet.
2. Every time we order something at our room e.g. a banana for my kid, there was a room charge of 500 Vatu. At the time of

Apart from this, it was an awesome stay.

Great to hear you had an awesome stay. As you found the team absolutely love children and many guests have theirs whisked away for a lot of cuddles.

We certainly encourage people that have dietary requests to let us know as the team can certainly make some changes or individual serves to meet the requests. Thanks for the feedback though which i will discuss with the team.

Look forward to seeing you all back in Vanuatu in the near future.
