situated about 10-15 minutes walk north of town this motel has super clean, great big rooms with full kitchen facilities and nice balconies at a price much cheaper than downtown locations Onsite owners Tony and Beth were also friendly hosts. Note that is it not a resort, so it does not have a pool. That is fine because we simply used the hotel as our sleeping and cooking base for 4 days when we were out all day doing our daytrip excursion around the island and sail boat cruises etc. Since most of these excursion head north, it meant we had the latest pick-up and also the bonus of the earliest drop off on the way back!

The one downside for this hotel was the traffic noise! The hotel is right against the main road which has an incredible amount of traffic including buses and trucks. Light sleepers (like me) need ear plugs. Sunday night is party night and is particulary noisy with traffic, music and revellers yelling until the wee hours of the morning but other nights were tolerable. Avoid Unit 1 if possible because the water filter/conditioner for the hotel is just outside the unit door and comes on at least one might a week in the middle of the nite with loud gushing/gurgling water noises for many minutes (I think this water pump/conditioner could be moved to a quieter location by attaching new longer poly pipe to the inlet and outlet ports?)

one of the closest hotels to airport.
on main road, easy access to town centre, heaps of shops nearby for food etc
secure premises... self contained with shower toilet etc
kitchen fridge etc

FRIENDLY HELPFUL hosts (Bev and Tony) provide a small piece of Aussie style accommodation in the tropical madness of Port Vila

Room Tip: all rooms have fans etc, upstairs has air-conditioning

We stayed 7 nights at the Coral Motel with hosts Tony and Beth. Genuine and accomodating owners they are, and their staff were always smiling and attended to our room excellently. The groundsman and night watchman were smiling and polite also. We particularly enjoyed the full kitchen where we self catered for breakfast and lunch - full stove and regular fridge much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and linens fresh. We had a rental car but still took the time to walk to the small public market and to the store. The large public market downtown was awesome!! Lots of fresh fruit in our unit at all times. Thank you Tony and Beth, we wish you and the girls well.

Room Tip: Top floors get more breeze, and are airconditioned which blocks out the little bit of road noise for sleeping.

The service at Coral is outstanding: the staff there are very accommodating, the place is always kept exceptionally clean, and we always felt safe. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a self catered budget accommodation- certainly value for money here! It is an enjoyable walk (about 15 to 20 mins) to the centre of town, but it is extremely easy to catch a bus if you don't feel like this and there are also restaurants and shops nearby. Tony and Beth are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to ensure your stay in comfortable.

I stayed at Coral Motel Port Villa Vanuatu in June and was so impressed I booked a return visit in September and I wasnt disappointed. The same friendly welcome from Beth and Tony. Lovely clean comfortable rooms. Well appointed bathroom and kitchen for self catering. What struck me on this visit was how Beth and Tony care for their guests. Ringing the tours and arranging tours, making sure we had towels to go to Hideaway with, the transfers to the airport at 10.30pm. In fact it was Beth who alerted me to the fact that my flight had been cancelled and worked it all out for me. I'll be staying at Coral Motel again next year.

Room Tip: Didnt need the air conditioning at the end of September.
