We stayed here in Aug 2014 in a lagoon view room (no plunge pool but we didn't feel we needed one with 3 other pools on site!). The room was clean, tidy and exactly as the pics in the brochure portrayed. We were here for 12 nights and found the resort very quiet and relaxing. The restaurant is excellent, a bit expensive but worth it! We are there every morning for breakfast - the muesli is great and about 3 times for dinner. No complaints with the food at all....everything we tried was delicious! The bar area however is in need of attention. The bar has 4 bar stools but is located inside the restaurant so if you want a few drinks you have to sit in the lobby area ( next to the bar) which is a very nice area but has the most uncomfortable chairs ever! The chairs are too deep which means you have absolutely no back support at all....not comfortable for spending any real time in which meant we never sat and enjoyed drinks in the bar as there is nowhere comfortable to sit. The same chairs are also in the rooms but at least there you have a cushion for a bit if back support! The music in the bar also needs to be updated.....yellow submarine, Tracy Chapman and Bee Gees seem to be the songs/artists of choice every day!! Overall the resort offers a really good tour rep Glenda who has heaps of free advice and suggestions for things to do however Mangoes itself has no entertainment on offer at all. A board or list of what entertainment is available when and where at other resorts would therefore be appreciated please. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return as we loved the atmosphere and being child free but please change the uncomfortable chairs!!

My partner and I stayed at Mangoes for a week and loved it. We had our own private pool and another resort pool opposite our room. Both were always clean and beautiful. Resort was always nice and quiet (apart from the occasional rooster). Staff were fantastic. Easy access to town. Transport super easy. Every time we walked out and bus was there or there within a few minutes.

Only negative was shower which offered you either boiling water or freezing cold water. No beautiful warm shower!

Breakfast was beautiful, surroundings well maintained and beautiful. Would recommend to family/friends to stay at.

My boyfriend and I wanted a romantic getaway that was reasonably priced and still wanted to experience culture. Mangoes resort was booked by our travel agent as part of a package and was recommended to us. We were hoping for bungalows on the water, however we weren't disappointed by the hospitality and convenience of Mangoes. It is a short walk into town (though if we visited Vanuatu again, we would not spend time in town.) the staff were more than accommodating and any questions we had about Efate and surrounding islands were answered to the best of their knowledge. The staff were very friendly and would often stop for a chat in the lobby/restaurant front. Great and reasonable priced food, good range of cocktails, clean rooms, clean and we'll maintained pool and garden areas. Always access to taxis and generally buses would pass frequently if you stand out the front. Would recommend Mangoes to couples who want a quiet and clean place to stay, middle range price and near to town and facilities. If you are after seclusion, I would recommend you move off Efate island.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room with a view..... Ours was a pool view, though others had views over the la...

Why stayed at mangoes for a week in July. We booked a 2 bedroom villa with private pool. We chose Mangoes for the location, walking distance to town and views over the lagoon and it did not disappoint. Rooms were spacious and well equipped and perfect for a family of 4. The staff were terrific and went out of their way to help thank you Callum & co. The resort is well maintained and in a beautiful setting the view over the lagoon lovely. The staff were very helpful in suggesting tours/ places of interest etc to see we enjoyed our daily adventures? Only set back was the weather ! Totally out of anyone's control but staying at Mangoes certainly made that easier to put up with. Would recommend to any one and would love to go back one day.
