Our stay at Tradewinds was wonderful, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the room was clean with everything we needed. The kids loved the pool!

Fully self contained and located up the back of town. Easy walk into town, bit of a slog up the hill to get back, but hey the bus is cheap and frequent! Fully self contained for cooking etc and has BBQ available. Good saltwater pool. Very good price. Would happily go back.

Tradewinds offers guests a great alternative to the "resort" holiday. The studio we stayed in was homely and easy, and convenient. Everything you need is there including support and information if you need it, and lots of comfortable privacy if you don't.
What you don't get is a lot of peripheral stuff that you don't really want...or want to pay for...
What esle could you ask for?
We would definately choose a return visit at Tradewinds and thanks to Mitch, Lyn and Sally for the great time we had in Vanuatu.

If you are heading to Vanuatu and need great value self contained accommodation then look no further than Tradewinds. Warm hospitality and friendly, efficient staff allowed my wife and I to completely relax and enjoy our three week holiday. Mitch, Lynn, Sally and staff made us feel very welcome.

Tradewinds’ location suited us nicely. Warm and friendly Ni-Van locals greeted us on our many short walks through “Seaside Village” to Vila’s attractions, shops and restaurants. A well stocked supermarket is 10 minutes walk away and there are three small “local stores” that stock the basics, one right opposite the resort.

The grounds staff keep everything clean and tidy outside. The pool was a most welcome reprieve from the humid October/November days.

The ladies do a great job keeping the rooms clean and fresh. The studio was well equipped for cooking and a full size refrigerator meant grocery shopping was kept to a minimum. The barbeque was very handy for those lazy evenings relaxing by the pool or on our balcony with a few drinks. Mitch and Lynn host a barbeque night which is a great way to meet other guests.

All the staff go out of their way for you. Sally was exceptionally helpful with local knowledge and advice whilst Mitch made sure everything worked (in between rounds of golf J).

On our sad departure day, Lynn offered to drop us at the airport as a tropical downpour was imminent. We accidentally left a small plastic bag in the back of her vehicle and didn’t realise until we were well through customs and about to board the plane. We were so surprised and pleased when a flight attendant presented it to us on the plane. Lynn found the bag when she arrived home and returned it to the airport just in time! Thank you Lynn.

This is our second visit to Vanuatu and it certainly won’t be our last. We are looking forward to our next stay at Tradewinds.

Close enough to town and right amongst it. Shops close by for snacks and drinks. Swimming pool was clean and very welcomming after a days activity or inactivity. This was our second visit and we stayed elsewhere last time. We will staying here again next time. Very helpful staff who advised what nights were the best for different bars. Lynn and Mitch are great hosts. Apparently he can fish a bit to but his boat was out of action for our visit, Maybe next time. Wonderful country Vanuatu.

We had a wonderful week's holiday in Vanuatu and can thoroughly recommend Tradewinds. I wish I could say the same for Pacific Blue ...we were caught up in the Pacific Blue meltdown and to add injury to insult, when we finally did get to Vanuatu, it was to discover that my bag had been lost. I only received it 2 and a half weeks later (after we'd been back for a week and a half) and if it hadn't been for Mitch and Lynn, I don't think I would have ever seen it again - I very much appreciated all their help and phone calls and emails on my behalf.

Tradewinds suited us perfectly as it is conveniently located for exploring Vanuatu. It only takes about 10 minutes or so to walk to town or the well stocked supermarket and is a great way to get a feel for the local way of life. Plus, I don't think we ever waited more than a couple of minutes for a local bus when we ventured further afield. Mitch had recommended Crystal Blue Lagoon (where we were shown the attractions (sharks, turtles, eels) by a very helpful and friendly guide) and had an excellent lunch. Sally organised a local bus for us and made sure that we would be picked up as it was quite out of the way.

Our townhouse was very clean and roomy and we were particularly grateful for the air conditioning in the bedrooms as it was quite warm and humid while we were there. It was good to have the use of the BBQ and we can recommend the supermarket's kebabs! It was nice to have the pool available for a quick dip because it's not on the beach and swimming in the nearby lagoon was not recommended.

Our holiday could have been ruined by Pacific Blue but thanks to Vanuatu and Mitch, Lynn and Sally at Tradewinds, we had a fantastic time!

We had a pleasant two weeks in a comfortable western style studio at Tradewinds in September 2010. This felt like a home away from home and the place was as it is represented on the website and clean and tidy with daily room service. This resort is really good value for money. The location in Seaside suburb is next to Seaview Resort and above Poppys On The Lagoon, so overlooks the Erakor Lagoon and gets the benefit of cooling trade breeezes. We found the location had easy walking distance to the CBD, Waterfront, fruit and vege markets and Supermarkets. We mostly self catered except for attending two excellent Tuesday night BBQs at Tradewinds and an evening meal at nearby Coconut Palms resort. We enjoyed being able to hail a local bus at the door and easily day tripped off to Hideaway Island twice, Mele Cascades waterfalls and also enjoyed going to Erakor Island and Iririki Island. We also walked to the Museum and Cultural Centre. The resort efficiently arranged Airport Transfers with Melanesian Tours and an around the island trip with Evergreen Tours. We used the cute clean pool every day. We left the South Island of New Zealand on the morning that the serious earthquake occured in Christchurch and a fresh snow had fallen low down on the local mountains, so arriving in Pt Vila was a climatic and culture shock. However the reception at Tradewinds resort soon made us welcome and comfortable.
