The cave is hard to get to on the North side of the island. There were just a couple of little kids at the gate. There wasn't much inside and it was pretty dark.

We were on a round the island tour which I have done quite a few times before. The Siviri caves was the on our itinerary for the first time. This was a waste of getting out of the bus. 500 v for absolutely nothing. There is an additional cost for the use of the kayak but there was only 1 kayak and 24 of us so it wasn't an option.

Great to support the local village but three small caves and slightly disappointing, however, Suzy was helpful and pleasant.
If you can paddle a canoe and don't mind the above it breaks up the coastal drive

So it's a bit out of the way but the locals are SUPER friendly and it's very cheap for the experience you get! Our tour guide (Phil) is a local and he and his girls plus a couple of other local kids took us through the cave. We were told about the different customs and beliefs surrounding the cave - very fascinating. The first little section is just walking, then you kayak (or swim if you're game) through the next bit, then you walk/crawl your way through to the end. You will get up close and personal with many bats (and sit sit blo bat) and you will get dirty along the way so don't wear good clothes. It's definitely not for those who are easily frightened or claustrophobic, but was worth a look given that we were in the area. Being able to experience it with the locals really made the experience!

We visited Siviri Cave and paid to have a look inside and to row the canoe. You do not row very far, but it is very dark, you cannot really see, so that is an experience in itself. Interesting...
