“Highlight of Our Holiday”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

Paradise Cove proved to be the absolute highlight of our recent stay in Port Villa. The Beautiful gardens, spectacular views, friendly helpful staff all combined to make our stay relaxing and fun. The snorkeling was exciting with all manner of fish, corals & other wonders right at your doorstep.
Marc and Constance went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable even offering to drive us to the airport when our transfer didn't arrive on time( yes we did make the flight just ). Happy hours in the "Nakamal" (gathering area) were a great opportunity to catch up and discuss the events of each day and the cocktails and Tuskers were enjoyable. Meals were of a high standard and the coconut crab a standout. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others Geoff Michelle & family

My partner and I wanted a hideaway- somewhere low key, in a gorgeous location with great food and tranquil yet friendly atmosphere. Paradise Cove resort delivered in spades! The bungalows were clean, simply yet elegantly decorated (including beautiful fresh flowers every day), and very private. The gardens were immaculate and it was a treat to be able to walk straight off the private beach onto the reef with its giant clams, range of corals and brilliantly coloured tropical fish. Activities for those inclined were readily available, and off site tours arranged with a minimum of fuss and sound advice from the friendly staff.
Happy hour really was a happy hour and Marc and Constance were extraordinary hosts, mingling with everyone and always interested in their guests. We loved the fact that technology was kept to a minimum ( free wifi in the dining area with excellent signal) while books and board games abounded. It was lovely to see adults and children alike passing up game apps on the ipad to play the original games and learn new ones. The menu was based on the seasonal local produce (fruit was absolutely incredible) with enticing chefs specials everyday. If cocoanut crab is available - do try it, its not like any other crab!
We will definitely be going back and cannot recommend Paradise Cove resort highly enough for those who truly want to get away from it all.

My partner and I have just returned from staying 5 nights at Paradise Cove. The hosts Mark and Constance are exceptional, they personally welcome you and all the staff quickly learn your name. The snorkelling off the jetty is fantastic, its very easy to just walk into the water and start seeing the fish. The food is good, and the staff will do anything they can to make your stay great.
Jane gives a great massage and happy hour is just that-happy!

This place needs a huge revamp and thought the owners are wonderful people, I couldn't recommend staying here until they spend some $$ getting it up to par for the price. Rooms have termites and no air con which is needed during the hot months. We had to keep our doors open for air circulation at night which resulted in zero privacy! In the morning I noticed bugs dead all over the bathroom which I later found out were termites that the owners confessed as their first thing to fix. The pool is so small, more like a little dip pool. The bar/resturant does not stay open late and is way overpriced. The snorkeling is pretty decent. The staff are wonderful Vanuatu people and the owners really are so sweet and very friendly. I do hope they get this place turned around but if I wanted to go tropical camping I sure wouldn't spend over $200 a night! I hope I save someone from a disappointing holiday.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else, especially if you're a couple!

Dear Coopertino41, since your visit last December, a lot has been done and this is probably why your review is at odd with recent guests' feedbacks. As you confessed, Paradise Cove Resort was a default choice as all the adult only resorts were fully booked. I am afraid you made a mistake as we don't have night public bar or live music, no TV or minibars in the bungalows. I suppose this is why you compare Paradise Cove Resort to a “tropical camping”. Now let me clarify a few points:
We managed to get rid of the wood borers. The entire resort was treated last February, 3 months after we took over, one month after your visit.
The privacy is provided by the large tropical garden (2.5 acres) where the ten bungalows are spread. Our guests appreciate the fresh air provided by the large French windows, high ceiling and fans in our 50m2 bungalows. We are lucky enough to have no mosquitoes on this stretch of coast.
The restaurant takes orders up to 8pm and closes when our guests have finished their dinner (10 or 11pm is not unusual). Light lunch is on average less than VUV 1.500 and evening meal less than VUV 3.000 beverages excluded. Room service is available during opening hours.
The sea water swimming pool which overlooks the beach is 12m x 5m x 1.8m. The 50m private beach soon to be extended to 75m is usually what our guests are after.
Finally, since you wrote in the resort feedback form that you “both had a great time overall”, we thought you started to appreciate the peaceful, relax and friendly atmosphere of this place. Obviously, we were wrong.

Loved it, loved it, loved it… only stayed 3 nights but it was a highlight for us.
Wonderful location and beautiful gardens are a good start but then the staff (thanks Benjamin, Jerony, Jane, Jonny and Wendy!), food, room and snorkeling made it very special - as did getting to know Marc and Constance.

Dinner on the jetty is a must!
