My girlfriend Steph, and I stayed at Paradise Cove in May, and couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The place was in a perfect, tranquil spot just out of Vila, and had the most relaxed atmposhere of any holiday spot we have stayed. Manager Barry. and Marc in the bar were excellent hosts, and Ben, Elte, and the rest of the staff would do anything to help make your holiday perfect. Thanks a bunch guys. The food was excellent, the rooms were very clean and tidy, and the gardens were immaculate. We read many books, used the kayaks, played with the dogs, snorkelled all day, ate and slept alot. What more could you want? it was great not having a tv. Highly recommended, and do consider a trip to Tanna, which Elte did a great job of arranging for us. We hope to come again in the near future...

Paradise Cove suited us perfectly. It had two room accommodation, it had accessible snorkelling, it had seclusion and the price was right. We loved every minute of it. The food was excellent, the service couldn't be faulted, the staff were wonderful and the sunsets were amazing. For much of the time, it felt as if we were on an island resort, so calm and away from it all did it feel. Don't go expecting high-voltage adventure sports night life raging. It's peaceful, relaxed and idyllic. Wonderful place, would love to go back some time.

Paradise Cove Resort is the perfect choice for people who want to get away from the larger resorts and enjoy the peace and beautiful surroundings that is offered here.
Our bungalow was beautifully presented with fresh flowers and fruit and kept spotlessly clean daily.
Every morning, it was a real pleasure to walk through the tropical gardens to the beach hut where breakfast was served. That was probably my favourite meal, sitting in the sun, watching the water and eating tropical fruits and homemade breads and croissants. There is a resort bus that goes to Port Vila twice a day and we did two great day trips which I would highly recommend- The Cascade Waterfalls and Secret Garden and Lelepa Island tour. The road in and out to Paradise Cove is certainly rough with pot holes, but hey, that all adds to the experience !
We came home each night for dinner and were never disappointed with the meals. There was a lovely mix on offer and a chefs special each night so always good variety.
And the staff are just gorgeous ! We felt like we were staying with family ( you know, family that you really like !! )
Canoes and snorkelling gear are free, but bike hire is expensive at about $60 Aust dollars for a family of four for a half day, particularly if you just wanted to go out for an hour ! Also, no beach towels are supplied , so take your own or you'll have to buy some.
We took loads of insect repellant, but weren't really bothered by mosquitos or creepy crawlies at all.
Our kids had a great time, snorkelling, bike riding, playing with the resident dogs and cat and playing foosball with each other and with the very talented staff , and spashing around in the pool, but it may not suit all children who are used to staying in resorts with lots of kids activities and flash pools etc.
All in all, we loved our week at Paradise Cove and hope to return again.

My wife and I are just back from a week at Paradise Cove Resort and loved it. We are in our mid forties. I have travelled my whole life for work and have stayed in more hotels than I care to remember. I’m very particular when choosing and staying at hotels.

The units are large with a big living area. There is a kitchenette with dishes, cutlery etc and a small fridge. We spent most of our time on the large covered patio, complete with two lounge chairs and a hammock. The bathroom and bedroom were (arguably) in need of a bit of refresh. If you are a very large person, the small shower may be an issue. The bed was firm and comfortable; not luxurious. There was plenty of hot water and everything worked. All units are in a lovely mature garden setting, less than a one minute walk to the water. At the water there is a sea wall with a sandy “beach” on one side and coral beach on the other. The water in front of the resort is lovely and clear. The snorkelling is very good and the reef (do search out the best parts..) is healthy and vibrant, every bit as good as snorkelling at Hideaway Island. One guest saw a Dugong whilst we were there.

The rooms are very clean, as is the restaurant and common area. The gardens and beach are immaculate.

Service is best described as understated and exceptional. We seldom had to ask for anything. The staff and management were very considerate. There was a perfect balance between doing nice things for you and leaving you alone.

Paradise Cove is out on Pango Point about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Port Villa. The road is (really) crap, but over time I found that it’s not a great deal worse than many of the roads in Vanuatu. Most local buses and the hotel twice daily transfer charge 200 VT (2.50aud) per person each way for the trip. A taxi is much more. So access to Vila is not convenient, but this adds to the privacy of the resort. No one goes down that road without good reason!

The food in the restaurant is of high quality and has similar prices to other restaurants we ate at during our stay. The continental breakfast is very nice with fresh breads, fruit and juices. Espresso coffee was also very good.

This place has bucket loads of character and felt like home after a couple of days. The resort was at (or near) capacity of 25 people when we were there, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Our favourite table in the restaurant or beach chair was always available. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff felt like family. There are no phones, TVs or loud happy hours here.
The resort is well run. They employ more people than they have guests and the management have established an education fund (optional in place of gratuities) for the staff’s children.

As for the couple of very negative reviews on this forum; if they are legit the people need to get over themselves. Please don’t make your accommodation decision based these posts. We didn’t have any problems with bugs or the rooms and I’m very confident that any issue raised to the resort managers would be promptly and graciously addressed.

Just had a week in P.Cove Resort. What a great place, very relaxed. Beautiful weather, v.v.v. friendly staff, in particular Ben, James, Elte & Marc. Bungalows quite comfortable & private,a little bit out of town & a v.v.v. bumpy bus trip, but its adds to the fun & you get used to it after a few trips !!! Could really stay there a week without leaving the resort, relaxing on the waters edge. Not much in Port Vila town though

This is really a tired and bit grubby in general resort, charging too high a rate:
We were over from NZ for a wedding and added extra days to enjoy a long-overdue break from our business.
Please note: We have also stayed away in Rarotonga, Bali and Java and North Aust.

Initial viewing finds a lovely setting indeed with direct resort access to the sea as advertised but note, every snorkle taken etc will be charged for.. as will the daily 'bus' - in need of some attention - into town over the really poor road which has not been graded for some time (confirmed by overhearing a locals discussion) and therefore quite a tiring ride in itself into town.
You will then need to organise your own 'bus' return to this resort and negotiate the fare when you do find one that say they will take you back out there, as they all may not!

The staff ARE lovely and friendly; but you do not get advised that the beans included in your dinner choice (served with alot of bread before and during) are not available and will be replaced with 3 very small florets of brocoli with the thick fairly chewy lamb cutlets! ordered..

The one-bedroom bungalow (whare) was the greatest disappointment of all and we have discussed with others who have stayed out of the Port as well now.
After arriving and setting bags down in the living area, which was okay and we considered the musty smell was maybe from being closed up although all doors were open we soon realised it was very necessary to have the provided insense sticks there when we walked down the short passage-way where floor-boards to the bedroom and bathroom entrances both felt as if they may give way at any time and the smell became worse: the bedroom felt unclean, was dark in a dank-way and on opening the wardrobe smelled worse and we opted not to use it but hang some things over the left-open doors - something kept dropping onto the bed from the wood ceiling logs which we brushed off only to have these little brown lumps return again in a couple of hours..

the bathroom was a joke with the gas califont which took some tricky tap-turning sometimes to ensure it came on (management did advise that if it didn't come on at all just to call them - DID NOT SEE THAT ADVERTISED ANYWHERE) and then there was the tiny slide-door shower which elbows etc will bang and bump into and I am not a large person at 60kg and 65cm.
Then you will have the fun of the cockroaches (good sized) runing round the place at night - especially the bedroom where, when you have sprayed round the place again and chased off and killed others, you will hear the scuttling round again after you turn off the light.... Lovely and relaxing!!

After joining the rest of a large contingent of people there for the wedding from NZ and Aust and seeing other accommodation we opted to move into town and not stay the week we had intended.... Yes, we had to suck it up when told the best that could be done was to charge us for 5 nights when we had only stayed for 2! We just wanted to get out of there and so did what was required.

Do Not be Fooled by the advertising and I am truly wondering about the other reviews here? and Do be aware that anything you may be advised is available may well be charged for... others all seemed to have complimentary airport transfers whereas we found ours was another charge etc etc.

Once we escaped here, we then relaxed in properly clean surroundings and enjoyed our stay - Elsewhere.
