Stayed here with a large group of friends in their 20s in December 2010, not January 2012 (the system doesn't allow reviews dating back to 2010).

It was good value and suited our group. We rented a big 5-bedroom villa for 10 people, plus 2 one-bedroom units for two couples.

The resort was good, but had no air conditioning in the villa, just fans, which made sleeping somewhat uncomfortable.

Can't review the restaurant as we never actually dined there. We bought groceries at the market and cooked our meals every night. The kitchen in the villa was well equipped. The fridge was not too good, unfortunately - we had difficulties making ice, as the water took forever to freeze.

Still, I believe this was a good deal for our tight budget. We'd probably stay there again.

it was our first time in Vanuatu and it was just perfect, everything was well organised. Benjor is a 31/2 star resort, but the friendly staff make it feel like 5 star. There is a happy hour with a special cocktail every day, served with a smile and makes you have more. You wanna go on a tour ask Fred, he will organise everything and will make it a perfect day for you. Special thanks to Greg and Miranda (owners) we will be back for sure.

Room Tip: next to the pool, was perfect for us

In all honesty Benjor Beach Club was a bit of a let down. I travelled there with friends during late November 2012 and while the staff were very friendly the facilities were of poor quality. In other words, since the accomodation package is quite cheap, you are certainly getting what you pay for, if not less than what you pay for. I'll start with the negatives: The toilets in my room were heavily stained along the back of the toilet bowl (not very pleasant to look at, let alone use) and the shower did not work consistently, often wavering in temperature and waterflow. The hotel rooms are cleaned every 3 days instead of everyday so if you are going I would recommend bringing your own towel instead of relying on there being a fresh one every day.

On our third day the power went out in our room, so we had to spend the night with no lights, fans or basic appliances in the room. There was no air-conditioning in the room either and the tv only played dvds, it didn't air any tv channels.

One appealing feature of the resort is that there was a complimentary buffet breakfast offered every morning. However this breakfast only consisted of toast with spreads, fruit and cereal (cornflakes or wheatbix). If you are expecting pancakes, bacon, eggs or anything of that sort then you will be let down. There was no tea, coffee or water on offer as well, only juice (water was only offered when asked).

The beach volleyball pit contained quite hard, corally sand which was uncomfortable to step on barefoot. The beach itself, while very pretty to look at had dark, soil coloured shores so it wasn't that picturesque. The restaurant at the resort is not very good, and you are much better off going to Port Villa or another hotel restaurant for tastier, often cheaper food.

Also if getting a bus from the resort, they will often charge you 400 Vatu for a trip instead of the more standard charge of 150-200 Vatu. My friends and I were able to save money by walking along the road leading away from the hotel, and getting a bus from there as they often offer cheaper prices if you don't get the bus directly from the hotel.

Positives: the double bed was very comfortable, very friendly staff, the rooms were a decent size, and it is located closely to hideaway island and cascade waterfalls. Although most of the trip was spent outdoors, the accomodation could have definitely been better.

If you are looking for a resort to completely chill out, you enjoy Benjor Beach resort. The staff were friendly able to make you a yummy cocktail whenever you wanted one. The grounds are beauifully kept and relaxing fora wander around. The rooms are compfy & cosy & clean. The resort is only about 15 mins from the airport so your holiday starts as soon as you get off the plane.
The staff were happy to organize any day trips we wanted to do, and arrange transport to get there with ease!
The deck was always great to sit around and read a book, or watch telly or chat!
Love this resort and will certainlly be going make next year for another chill out.

Have enjoyed every minute. You first walk in and get a welcome drink- yummo! Bec & Allan (management) greet you with open arms and massive smiles. All the staff are beautiful. Very peaceful surrounds. Beach, beach & more beach.
Fabulous tours that can be organised by Bec & Allan. Saki & Sami (ask for them)- most friendly bus drivers.
Rooms are very clean & massive- no formula 1 size here!! With ours looking out onto a horizon of water! Great swimming in the pool, BBQ usage, put put, volleyball- with the kayak girls- mention lobster and they'll know who your talking about :)
Huge thank you to all the staff- family atmosphere. We will be back soon

Starting on a positive note: local staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming,
Good location (albeit - little far from town) with good snorkelling from the beach, picturesque little waterfall in the grounds & a nice walk to the main waterfalls.

On arrival, they forgot to collect us from the airport. We made our own way in a taxi & were told it would be taken up with the manager on their return. Later that evening I am rudely accosted by an overfamilair, paraletic man hugging me & slurring that I "look just like aunt Sal"...Enter...the manager! He was loud & slightly aggressive, staggering around explaining the injustices of his life " they didn't have ADHD in my day", needless to say, we kept a wide berth of him after that.

The room was adequate with a fridge, kettle & coffee plunger, there was a view of the ocean from the veranda. The shower did not work properly & fluctuated in temperature & power throughout. By the end of our 4 nights I was pretty desperate for a warm shower!
The rooms are cleaned every three days which isn't really enough when you are coming and going from the beach. We had to keep asking for clean towels.

The Vanuatuan staff seemed genuinely interested & keen to help, but appeared lost with no strong leadership. Several times we asked for assistance to book buses, make phone calls etc and received no response, during 1 meal I had to ask 3 times for a glass of water, on one occasion the bread at the buffet breakfast was mouldy, to which the other manager Rebecca just shrugged her shoulders & looked disappointed, despite her knowledge of our experience with numerous problems we were never once offered an apology or discussion as to how are stay my have been improved....which about sums it up....they just don't care!
