We stayed at this delightful resort for 7 day and enjoyed every minute of it. Sally and the staff were more than helpful with suggestion on were and what to visit and see on the island. We had hired a car so didn't eat at the resort too much but what the meals we had were great. The rooms were nice and clean and maintained and so close to the water with a sea view from our room. The gardens were spectacular with its own fresh water stream running through the property. Would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Remember to take your boat shoes for walking on the coral.

We escaped from the cold of a chilly NZ Wellington winter and arrived in the barmy warmth of Vanuatu - and the warmth definitely applied to both the weather and the welcome we got from the staff at Benjor. This is a really underrated resort - low in cost and really high in service. Ok the rooms are relatively minimal but they are huge and clean and have all the basic amenities we needed - including best of all the views of Mele Bay and the ocean. Can't really put a price on that. The road leading out to Benjor was pretty rough but only about 2ks until you hit the tarseal again so not really a drama. We caught a few of the local buses and they are worth as take through villages and other places you might not see normally. the market in town was great and we also loved our village tour. The restaurant is lovely with great ocean views and particularly good pasta. Best of all were the staff!!! Friendly and helpful - loved them.

Room Tip: We had a Villa close to the pool and this was great for early morning and late night dips!!

We had four nights here at this lovely resort in Mele Bay - right on the ocean and brilliant snorkelling straight off the main beach. We actually split out stay as went down to Tanna to the volcano after two nights and then came back for two nights. The managers were nice enough to hold our same room for us while we were away and we left some of our bags there as well which made our short trip to tanna much easier. The staff were lovely and the grounds really nice with a cute swimming pool down by the ocean and a great open restaurant with fabulous cocktails. All on a budget - what more can you want. We will definitely be back for a longer trip next time. Thanks.

OK, clean & simple little resort with no frills. All staff have excellent English, the manager Sally is Australian, so no need speaking Bislama. The resort is way out of Port Villa, which is excellent if this is what you seek. It is a good 15min ride by local bus or taxi. That didn't bother me as PV is really dusty and stuffy, so a slightly remote location made me feel like actually 'being on the island by myself'. Being so far away, obviously means you have to rely on the staff to organise transport for you. It costs 450-500VATU each way to PV, which doesn't sound much but adds up as you have to do it 2x day x several days over your stay as most of the tour-operators only service metropolitan areas - meaning they don't pick you up or drop off from Benjor.

The bungalows are very spacious, clean and all within few meters of the ocean.Definitely wouldn't recommend bringing kids there. Although it's perfect for couples (lovely setting, serene, remote). The pool is very small considering the fact that you can't just jump into the ocean (rocky & coral beach). There is nothing (and I mean nothing!) there to do with them. The restaurant is good although I'd say a tad pricey.
Nearby Mele beach is a wonderful half-day out. So is a walk to The Summit, Mele Cascades or the Secret Gardens. All within walking distance or 5min drive. Renting a kayak at reception or snorkeling gear is a must too.

Doing things 'the island time' didn't bother me. Even walking to my bungalow in total darkness as the pathway wasn't lit scared the jitters out of me, But hey, it's a holiday, so why rush or have everything perfect. During my stay, however, there were 2 weddings going on, so I must say, it felt like all the staff was rushing around them, slightly forgetting they have other guests too. The restaurant service sometimes made me wait for a menu for several looooong minutes. Or, on few occasions, I wanted to organise a tour hoping to discuss the particulars only being swiped to a corner without even looking at me by 'it's on the leaflet over there...'. So I booked the tours by myself once in PV.

The Wifi in reception/ restaurant/ lobby area works well. No spa or fitness centre at site to my knowledge.

We had a cool time at this cute little resort. Our villa looked straight out on the ocean, snorkelling was truly amazing - only had to go out about 20 mtrs to get to really good live coral and loads of fish. Beats going on a boat for three hours to get to the Great Barrier... Our room lovely and spacious with good basic amenities of fridge, tea and coffee and private bathroom. Good breezes and screens were welcome and we certainly were not to hot but that is probably as this time of the year is a littel cooler anyway. Had lovely food and service in the restaurant which looks over Mele Bay and really is very pretty. Go the lobster!!! Good buzzy atmosphere and special thanks to the staff that made the exprience way better than a 3.5 star.

In Sept 2012 myself and my now husband went on a cruise over to Port Vila Vanuatu to be married. I had been liaising with Sally VIA emails in organizing the details of our special day.
At first I was a bit concerned about trusting another person in another country to organize the big day I thought was a bit of a risk-I assure you this was not the case! Sally was so helpful in our every request. Very prompt in her replies and simplified the whole process.
Long story short, we docked at Port Vila. The transfers collected us and took us to the beautiful Benjor Resort. Greeted with a warm welcome, I was whisked away for hair & make-up(Hair Dresser was organized through Benjor and I was so happy with the outcome- I felt a million dollars!) whilst my family were looked after waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Bruce was nice enough to film the ceremony for us. After walking down the Isle and marrying my best friend we took some photos on the picturesque beach/waterfalls/gardens at the resort. We had an amazing wedding lunch-Delish!
Then the resort had organized for us to be taken to the nearby famous Cascade Falls for more photo opportunities. This was such an amazing back-drop for wedding photo's!
Whilst having our dream come true this wedding package was very affordable. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Thanks so much to Sally & Bruce and their friendly helpful team at Benjor Resort! You certainly went above & beyond with sincere kindness!
Peta & Rhett Ashton :)

We arrived after a long day to find Sally sitting us down to tell us that she had given our room away to a wedding party. We had been put up in bungalow accommodation down the road not a resort. We did however get a free ride down to our new accommodation and a return trip for dinner at the restaurant. Our continental breakfast for four people was some fruit a loaf of bread and a box of cereal and some milk. We were picked up for dinner then waited 2 hrs for entree to arrive after ordering. Meals other than cold oyster mornays were ok but service ridiculously slow and very expensive. After the free ride back to our makeshift accommodation we were completely forgotten about. Breakfast not replenished (3 night stay) but we did finally get some contact from Sally on our last day to make sure we settled our food bill. We did receive some deductions but only due the parts of our package deal not met. We certainly will take this up with flight centre. It would have made it tolerable if some effort was made to at least get close to what we were entitled to. Good luck with this mob
