Top hotel although it was quite smokey (i guess from the casino) it has great views and lovely clean rooms. In the heart of town and close to everything you need. Will definately stay here again.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel & Casino for 5 nights in August and secured an excellent room rate, which included breakfast, with Wotif.com.

On arrival we were welcomed by warm reception staff and a delicious fruit cocktail! The time was also taken to point out the hotel’s features and services to us.

Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had a beautiful view over looking the hotel’s pool deck, harbour and Iririki Island. Actually, all the rooms have the same view, but it is definitely a better view the higher up in the building that you are situated.

We popped down to the local supermarket and bought a couple of bottles of wine and each evening we enjoyed toasting the beautiful sunset from our balcony!

Breakfast is served in Crystal’s Restaurant and it serves a good variety of cereals, fruit & pastries. Crystals is also open for lunch and dinner. We ate dinner twice during our stay and the food was absolutely beautiful! You can choose to either dine inside in air-conditioned comfort or outside to enjoy the warmth of the evening by amber night lights. Both areas offer exceptional harbour views and create a most pleasurable dining experience. The Grand Hotel also has a very good Pool Café that offers a great drinks and snacks if you are lounging by the pool and at night, there is a handy Lobby Lounge Café that operates late into the evening. Room service is also available if you’d prefer and is available 24/7.

In the lobby there is a great array of day tours and excursion brochures available and we found the concierge service to be very helpful and proficient.

The Grand Hotel is the only high rise in Port Vila and shares a partnership with the Iririki Island Resort. From the Grand Hotel’s pool deck, you can catch a free ferry across the water to Iririki for a snorkel or a swim and you can charge any other facilities like dinner, back to your room account at the Grand.

The Grand Hotel is well situated providing easy walking access to the shopping centre and local markets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would most definitely visit again.

thought we would go somewhere warm to escape the melbourne winter for our 4oth wedding anniversay. Stayed at the Grand hotel and casino and had a great time. If you are thinking of staying there stay on the 5th or 4th floor as the view across the lagoon is fantastic. The hotel is linked to the Iririki island resort which made a big difference as the pool and restaurant on iririki are for use by Grand guests and are terrific facilities with views back to Vila. All in all great place to stay....but take a book!

This hotel was rated 4-star by Wotif and provided all the services we needed at a very attractive rate. It is not a "resort" as such but it is tied to Iririki Island resort which is very close and readily accessible by ferry . It is centrally located overlooking the harbour. We would stay there again as we found the service friendly and helpful and enjoyed a solid breakfast each morning before going out to enjoy the sights and many of the nearby restaurants. When we decided to stay at the Grand we were a little worried about some reports we had read but fortunately we, and the couple we went with, were happy with our choice. The only change I would make would be to take the cheapest room I could (with breakfast) I think the view from the lower floors is great.

My partner and i stayed here for a week in February. It was a good central location and across from Iririki Resort - the little ferry stopped at the Grand so it was pretty convenient if you wanted to go over to the island for a visit. The hotel was nice and had a fantastic view from the balcony - a great place to drink some wine and watch the sun go down. The bed was the most comfortable bed I think i have ever slept in!

The staff were friendly although most worked on fiji time - on the only night we wanted room service, we had to waited 1.5 hours for room service and when it finally arrived, the meals were cold but we were too hungry to bother sending them back. We didn't utilise the tour desk as we weren't sure how quickly our needs could be met and quite often the desk wasn't manned when we wanted to make an enquiry.

A continental breakfast was included and was fine - it was very basic but did the job. I had read previous reviews of the hotel on the Trip Advisor website and there were a few comments about the stench of cigarette smoke in the hotel, but you could only smell it when you walked into the foyer and not on any of the accommodation floors. The smell hit you when you first walked in to the foyer as the Casino entrance is right beside the reception desk.

The small casino was a lot of fun and the croupiers were pretty nice - one in particular was a lot of fun so we went back to his table a few times over the course of the week that we were there.

The pool overlooked the ocean and was another great spot to laze in the sun, read a book or just lean back and watch the boats sail by.

The hotel is in a good location and is only a short walk into the main area of town as well as some lovely restaurants being right beside the hotel. We also hired a car from across the road and spent a day doing a driving trip around the island.

If we go back to Vanuatu and want to stay on Efate, we will most likely stay at the Grand again.
